Stone Brewing Hits Summer with Three Seasonal IPAs

StoneIndependentTo help us all beat the heat this summer, Stone Brewing (Escondido, California) has officially announced the release of three Seasonal India Pale Ales: Stone Ghost Hammer IPA, Stone Mocha IPA, and Stone RuinTen Triple IPA w/ Orange Peel & Vanilla Bean.

First up, we have Stone Ghost Hammer IPA making its debut this summer.  Brewed in “tribute to the overnight Stone Brew Crew . . . and . . . the occasional creaking of the knocking pipes in the brewery,” this canned Specialty Seasonal is an unfiltered India Pale Ale brewed with Loral hops.  “Ethereal” in appearance, Stone Ghost Hammer IPA (6.7% ABV, 56 IBUs) hits its drinker “with a floral, lemony and tropical explosion.”  Stone Ghost Hammer IPA is available now and will be hanging out through the summer (while supplies last).  You can find this Seasonal IPA in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans and on draft at craft beer-focused bars, restaurants and retailers located in Alabama, Florida, California, Virginia and throughout the rest of Stone Brewing’s distribution network.

“Our quest for using new and different hops never ends,” says Jeremy Moynier, Senior Innovation Brewing Manager. “Stone Ghost Hammer IPA is our latest beer to highlight innovation in the hop world with a newer hop called Loral, which is named by combining the words ‘lemon’ and ‘floral’ as a nod to the strong lemony notes and its intense floral aroma. Additionally, Loral has some classic European noble hop qualities, making it overall a very unique and exciting hop.”

0621 MochaThis Stone Brewing IPA train keeps on rolling with the return of the fan-favorite Stone Mocha IPA.  This Imperial Seasonal Double India Pale Ale is a mind-bending brew that “combines the uniquely refreshing characteristics of a bright, fruity IPA and satisfying mocha overtones.”  Although Stone Mocha IPA is technically a Double IPA, the folks at Stone Brewing must show “deliberate disregard for traditional brewing styles” by blurring “the lines between an IPA and a stout” to make this beer a reality.  This is achieved by employing  a recipe that  includes golden-roasted coffee, dark chocolate, citrusy hops, and milk sugar.  This all results in a 9% ABV Stone Mocha IPA that is “a love child of a beer characterized by a beautiful meld of imperial IPA and mocha indulgence.”  Stone Mocha IPA is available now in 6-packs of 12 oz. bottles and on draft at craft beer establishments located within Stone Brewing’s national distribution footprint.

StoneRuinTenOVBFinally, this trilogy of summer hop bombs closes out with the release of Stone RuinTen Triple IPA w/ Orange Peel & Vanilla Bean.  Created as “an avant-garde amplification to the classic Stone Ruination IPA,” this “mega-hopped” Triple IPA is “loud, aggressive, and quite eccentric.” To take things one step further this year, the brewers at Stone Brewing went beyond the hops and dosed this beast with orange peel and vanilla bean to devise a “more electric and eccentric take on an orangesicle.” Meant for only the most devout of hopheads, Stone RuinTen Triple IPA w/ Orange Peel & Vanilla Bean weighs in at an imposing 10.8% ABV and 110 IBUs.  This limited Seasonal release is available now in 22 oz. bottles and on draft at select establishments found within Stone Brewing’s distribution area.

The release of Stone Ghost Hammer IPA, Stone Mocha IPA, and Stone RuinTen Triple IPA w/ Orange Peel & Vanilla Bean at the same time is Christmas come early for hop fiends.  Be sure to check out these three Seasonal IPAs before they disappear by summer’s end.  Prost!
