Heavy Seas Beer Launches Two New TropiCannon IPA Variants to Feature in New Mixed 12-Pack

TropiCannonCan2019Heavy Seas Beer (Baltimore, Maryland) has officially announced that it will soon launch a new TropiCannon 12-Pack Can Sampler that will include two brand new variants of its fan-favorite TropiCannon Citrus IPA: TropiCannon Pineapple IPA and TropiCannon Mango Lime IPA.

Developed to give hopheads a good mix of refreshing IPA options to enjoy throughout the hottest months of the year, the TropiCannon Can Sampler is Mixed 12-pack of 12 oz. cans that features three versions of TropiCannon Citrus IPA (7.25% ABV) – a fruited variant of the brewery’s flagship Loose Cannon IPA that amps things up with “a full blast of blood orange, grapefruit, mango and lemon flavor.”  TropiCannon Pineapple IPA and TropiCannon Mango Lime IPA – two brand new TropiCannon variants created specifically for the TropiCannon Can Sampler – take everything that is great about TropiCannon Citrus IPA and add their own tropical, fruit-filled twists to the experience.

The TropiCannon Can Sampler will include six 12 oz. cans of the original TropiCannon Citrus IPA, three 12 oz. cans of TropiCannon Pineapple IPA, and three 12 oz. cans of TropiCannon Mango Lime IPA.

TropiCannon is such an exciting beer for us at Heavy Seas,” says Heavy Seas Brewmaster, Christopher Leonard. “Its fans are extremely passionate about the beer. Because they are so energetic, we wanted to give them something to get even more excited about. We developed two unique variations – Pineapple and Mango Lime – that are very much in keeping with the TropiCannon spirit. It’s a great way to kick off spring and hopefully enjoy ‘Tropi’, as we call it, in two new fun ways.”

The TropiCannon Can Sampler will officially launch in mid-to-late March and is scheduled to hang around through September 2020.  You can expect to find this new Mixed 12-pack of 12 oz. cans at craft beer-friendly retailers located in Alabama, Florida, Maryland and throughout the rest of Heavy Seas Beer’s distribution area.  TropiCannon Pineapple IPA and TropiCannon Mango Lime IPA will also have limited availability on draft at select locations.  Prost!

Heavy Seas Goes Year-Round with TropiCannon Citrus IPA

hsbtropicannonbottleHeavy Seas Beer (Baltimore, Maryland) announced this week that TropiCannon Citrus IPA has officially been reclassified as the brewery’s newest year-round offering.

First released as a new Spring Seasonal earlier this year, TropiCannon Citrus IPA arrived as a fruit-infused take on Heavy Seas Beer’s flagship Loose Cannon IPA.  To achieve the desired level of juiciness, the brew’s foundation was shaken up by swapping out Loose Cannon’s piney Centennial and Palisade hop additions for the more citrus forward varietals of Amarillo and (even more) Simcoe.  The brewers then blasted the beer with “dried grapefruit, orange and lemon peel in the brewing process and added mango, blood orange and more grapefruit post-fermentation.”  The result was a massive hit with the brewery’s fans, and the folks at Heavy Seas have now decided that TropiCannon Citrus IPA has more than earned the right to become a year-round offering.

“TropiCannon was a pleasant surprise for us in 2016,” says Heavy Seas Founder, Hugh Sisson. “It was originally planned as a limited release product, but so many people kept asking for it that we decided we needed to make it available on a year-round basis. At least for now. This is part of what makes the beer industry so fun!”

A steady and constant flow of TropiCannon Citrus IPA is headed back to shelves and taps in the very near future.  Look for this one to turn up in 6-packs of 12 oz. bottles and on draft at craft beer establishments in Alabama, Florida and throughout the full distribution area of Heavy Seas Beer.  Prost!
