Heavy Seas Beer (Baltimore, Maryland) has announced that Winter Storm Imperial ESB will officially begin its annual Limited Release in October.
Meant to be a bit of a change of pace from the Porters and Stouts that typically dominate during the fall and winter months, Winter Storm is an Imperial Extra Special Bitter (ESB) that employs the use of “hops from the West Coast and the UK for its pronounced bitterness.” With “a mix of pale and darker malts” rounding things out with a “tawny color and . . . bigger body”, Winter Storm (7.5% ABV) comes together to be “a perfect beer for fall, especially because of its warming qualities.”
“It was our first international gold medal winning beer,” says Hugh Sisson, Founder of Heavy Seas Beer. “And I’m not supposed to say it, but I think it may be my favorite beer!”
Winter Storm will make landfall in October and hang around through December 2018. You can expect to find this Limited Release offering available in 6-packs of 12 oz. bottles and on draft at select craft beer-friendly retailers, bars and restaurants in Alabama, Florida, Maryland and throughout the rest of Heavy Seas Beer’s distribution footprint. Prost!
