Wild Leap Brew Co. (LaGrange, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Alpha Abstraction – Vol. 14 in late October 2020.
Arriving as the latest installment in Wild Leap’s experimental Double IPA series “intended to present . . . new, exploratory hop [profiles],” Alpha Abstraction – Vol. 14 is a Hazy/Juicy Double India Pale Ale double dry-hopped with a new hop varietal, Talus hops (formerly known as HBC 692). Coming in at 8% ABV, Alpha Abstraction – Vol. 14 offers “notes of pink grapefruit, citrus rind, dried roses, pine, tropical fruits and sage [with] a smooth mouthfeel.”
“Talus hops first caught my attention after reading growers’ discussions of ‘HBC 692’—a new, experimental hop with huge pink grapefruit characteristics,” explains Chris Elliott, Wild Leap’s Chief Brewing Officer. “It sounded like a perfect fit for the Alpha series, but it was difficult to get our hands on adequate quantities before it was officially named. The day it was named Talus, we found it and ordered it immediately.”
Alpha Abstraction – Vol. 14 debuted at Wild Leap Brew Co. on October 20 and is entering distribution now. You can expect to find this new Limited Release available in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans and on draft at select craft beer-focused establishments located within Wild Leap’s distribution footprint in Georgia. Prost!
