Rogue’s Pumpkin Patch Ale Returns with New Look

Rogue Ales (Newport, Oregon) has officially announced that Pumpkin Patch Ale will return for a Seasonal Release in August 2021.

Back a bit early this year and rocking a new look in a “vibrant” 16 oz. can, Pumpkin Patch Ale is a Pumpkin Ale “made with real, whole pumpkins from a local farm in Independence, Oregon.” After the pumpkins were cut and roasted by hand, the natural sugars sourced from the roast were united “with a delicate balance of spices, [creating] the signature flavor of this classic fall-themed brew.” Pumpkin Patch Ale comes in at 6.1% ABV.

“This beer is typically released later in the season since we use real pumpkins, but fans have been requesting an earlier release and we listened,” says Jack Waibel, VP of Production. “Instead of waiting until September when the pumpkins are ready to harvest, we purchased real pumpkins from a local farm in 2020 and froze them so we could brew Pumpkin Patch Ale a little earlier this year. This beer is the same world-class product that it has always been in a rad, new 16 oz. can.”

“Call me basic but I eagerly await all year for the release of Pumpkin Patch Ale,” says Waibel. “This is one of my favorite beers that marks one of the best times of the year. Pumpkin Patch Ale pairs great with butternut squash soup, seared venison and shortbread cookies or you can enjoy this sweet and malty ale on its own while watching the leaves fall.”

Pumpkin Patch Ale is rolling out now and is scheduled to hang out through October 2021. You can expect to find this Seasonal offering available in 4-packs of 16 oz. cans and on draft at select craft beer-focused establishments located in Alabama, Florida, Oregon and throughout the rest of Rogue’s distribution area. Prost!

Rogue Ales Sends Pumpkin Patch Ale Out to Distribution

pparoguebottleRogue Ales (Newport, Oregon) announced this week that they have officially released Pumpkin Patch Ale as a special fall offering.

For those of you who may be overwhelmed by the proliferation of pumpkin-themed everything turning up on stores shelves these days, take solace in knowing that Pumpkin Patch Ale is truly special because it was brewed with fresh pumpkins grown and harvested at Rogue Farms in Independence, Oregon.  This project started back in late spring when Dream Pumpkins were planted on one acre of the farm.  Once the gourds reached a “deep orange in color and their sweetness . . .peaked from the warm Oregon summer,” they were picked and immediately made the 77-mile trip to the brewery.  Upon arrival in Newport, “the pumpkins were hand-chopped and seeded, roasted in pizza ovens, and pitched fresh into the brew kettle along with vanilla bean, ginger, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange peel and Rogue Farms Independent hops to create Pumpkin Patch Ale.”

“It takes time to plant, grow, harvest, roast and brew with our own pumpkins, but real pumpkin beer is worth the wait,” said Rogue Brewmaster John Maier.

Pumpkin Patch Ale is available now on draft and in 750 ml bottles.  Pumpkin aficionados can track this one down by visiting their favorite craft beer-friendly retailer in Alabama, Florida, or any other state in Rogue Ale’s nationwide distribution footprint.  Prost!
