Weyerbacher Brewing Company (Easton, Pennsylvania) tests the depths of Insanity with the official release of Cinnsanity, a Bourbon Barrel-aged Barleywine with Cinnamon.
To concoct a maniacally updated experience for their long-standing, fan-favorite Seasonal lovingly known as Insanity, the brewers at Weyerbacher have created Cinnsanity by adding cinnamon during the aging process to act as a complement to the beer’s already established notes of bourbon, cherry and vanilla. Weighing in at a substantial 13.3% ABV, Cinnsanity is a full-bodied yet smooth offering that “is warming and balanced with a subtle sweetness and hint of spiciness.”
Cinnsanity was officially released on Sunday, March 5th at The Tap Room at Weyerbacher Brewing. For those of us not in the Easton area, this limited release is also shipping out now in 4-packs of 12 oz. bottles to select craft beer retailers, bars and restaurants in Florida, Pennsylvania and throughout the rest of Weyerbacher’s distribution network. This one certainly will not last long on shelves, so keep an eye out for Cinnsanity while on your next beer run. Prost!
