Jester King Brewery (Austin, Texas) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Pattinson Porter, a special collaboration with beer historian and writer Ron Pattinson, on August 8.

Brewed in March when Ron Pattinson visited Jester King for a speaking engagement, Pattinson Porter is a take on “a rare historical recipe for an East German Porter from the early to mid 20th century” that Pattinson brought along for the event.  This particular style of Porter was known for being “heavily toasted, highly hopped, and brettanomyces refermented.” Jester King put their twist on this beer by pitching it with their “mixed culture which contains several strains of brettanomyces rather than refermenting with brettanomyces.”  Pattinson Porter comes in at 8.4% ABV.

Pattinson Porter will make its debut at 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 8 at the Tasting Room & Kitchen at Jester King Brewery and distribution is anticipated to follow shortly after the on-site release.  You can expect to find this Limited Release offering available in 750ml bottles at select craft beer-focused establishments located in Alabama, Florida, Texas and throughout the rest of Jester King’s distribution footprint.
