Avery Brewing Co. (Boulder, Colorado) has officially announced that Pomona, a Barrel-aged Tart Ale, will join the brewery’s Year-Round lineup in mid-August 2020.
Originally developed for the Avery Invitational Small Batch Challenge, Pomona is a Fruited Sour Ale that has been aged in oak barrels for four months and then infused with “bushels of blueberries and pomegranates.” Coming in at 6.5% ABV, the “delightfully deep purple” Pomona is a “temptingly tart ale [that] will guide beer drinkers to the celestial plane of true barrel-aged sours.”
Pomona will debut in mid-August with availability in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans. You can expect to find this new Year-Round at craft beer-friendly establishments located in Alabama, Florida, Colorado and throughout the rest of Avery Brewing Co.’s distribution area. Prost!
