Vermont Cider Co. Celebrates Fall with Return of Woodchuck Pumpkin

WoodchuckLogo2Vermont Cider Co. | Woodchuck Hard Cider (Middlebury, Vermont) has officially announced that its fan-favorite Woodchuck Pumpkin will return in August for a Seasonal run.

Previously released as a part of Woodchuck’s Private Reserve line, this year’s Woodchuck Pumpkin has been reclassified as a Core Seasonal and now boasts “the addition of oak aging.” This new approach allows the offering’s “naked pumpkin profile and oak aging [to play] perfectly against the red culinary apple varieties used in this cider.”  Coming in at 5.5% ABV, the semi-sweet Woodchuck Pumpkin has “an earthy taste with hints of vanilla and caramel.”

“When we look at our limited release plans each year, we listen to what our customer partners and fans are asking for,” said Bridget Blacklock, Vice President of Marketing. “Pumpkin has been a style that everyone requests so we wanted bring back the original pure pumpkin taste with new complexity to give our fans something special.”

Woodchuck Pumpkin officially releases in August and has plans to hang around for a limited time this fall.  You can expect to find this Seasonal offering available in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans and on draft at select cider-friendly establishments located throughout Woodchuck Hard Cider’s distribution footprint in the East and Central regions of the U.S.  Prost!

Woodchuck Hard Cider Expands 802 Collection with Release of Kinda Cloudy

WC-Kinda-Cloudy2-761x527Vermont Cider Co. | Woodchuck Hard Cider (Middlebury, Vermont) has officially announced that Kinda Cloudy will release in late May as the second offering to come out of its 802 Collection.

Crafted to be the perfect complementary follow-up to Lil’ Dry, Kinda Cloudy is an unfiltered, semi-sweet Hard Cider that is – like all offerings to come out of the 802 Collection – “made using apples exclusively from [the cidery’s] Vermont orchard partners.”  Meant to “resemble the classic farm stand cider you’d pick up at your favorite Vermont orchard”, Kinda Cloudy (5.1% ABV) “has a medium-bodied mouthfeel, showcasing notes of refreshing apple, subtle hints of champagne, and a slight tartness at the finish.”

Kinda Cloudy is scheduled to roll out in late May with availability in 4-packs of 16 oz. cans (suggested retail price of $10.99) and on draft.  You can expect to find this Limited Release offering at cider-friendly establishments “in Vermont to start with potential distribution outside the state in the future.” Prost!

Vermont Cider Co. Re-releases Woodchuck Belgian White

WoodchucklogoVermont Cider Co. | Woodchuck Hard Cider (Middlebury, Vermont) has officially announced that Woodchuck Belgian White will make a limited return in February as a part of the cidery’s Tank Series.

Back by popular demand after an incredibly successful release from Woodchuck’s Private Reserve line, Woodchuck Belgian White is a Hard Cider that has been “crafted with a classic Belgian beer yeast.”  Thanks to this special ingredient, Woodchuck Belgian White (5.5% ABV) is able to mimic the characteristics of a Belgian Witbier by possessing a “cloudy . . . rich golden hue”, a “delicate citrus” aroma, and a flavor profile that boasts “both orange and coriander notes.”

“We have the best, most passionate fans and they are not shy about telling us what past varieties they miss,” said Bridget Blacklock, vice president of marketing. “On social, in our consumer email box and at events people are always asking when Belgian White will come back. We released it in the Cider House this past year with great response!”

After a brief release in select markets in 2017 and earning a Gold Medal at the World Cider Championships, Pear Ginger is returning this month to kick of the Tank Series, a line of limited release ciders that honors the “pioneering spirit” of Woodchuck’s cider makers and their unwavering dedication to innovation.  Just as its name would lead you to believe, Pear Ginger (5% ABV) “infuses both pear and ginger for a cider that is light and refreshing.”

“We took time in 2017 to talk to our fans and hear what they wanted to see from Woodchuck,” said Bridget Blacklock, Director of Marketing. “Across the board they said more innovation again. We also kept hearing that being outdoors is a big part of their lifestyle so we knew it had to be a can package.”
