Bell’s Brewery (Comstock, Michigan) has officially announced that the 2019 batch of Hopslam Ale will begin its annual limited release during the first week of January.
Released once a year to the delight of adoring hopheads all over the country, Hopslam Ale (10% ABV) is a Double IPA brewed with a hop bill that starts “with six different hop varietals added to the brew kettle and [culminates] with a massive dry-hop addition of Simcoe hops.” This abundant hop schedule – “the most complex . . . in the Bell’s repertoire” – offers a “pungent blend of grapefruit, stone fruit and floral notes” while a “generous malt bill and a solid dollop of honey provide just enough body to keep the balance in check, resulting in a remarkably drinkable rendition of the Double India Pale Ale style.”
Hopslam will make its first appearance in 2019 at the Eccentric Cafe and Bell’s General Store on Wednesday, January 2. Staggered distribution will immediately follow the on-site release with the following schedule:

Just as it does each and every year, Hopslam will disappear with a quickness once it hits shelves and taps in your area.
