Burial Beer Co. (Asheville, North Carolina) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of The Ostensible Realities of Fanatical Unforgiveness, a special collaboration with Resident Culture Brewing Company (Asheville, North Carolina), on Wednesday, June 1.

Inspired by the wonder found in a “a coconut milk ice cream vegan banana split,” The Ostensible Realities of Fanatical Unforgiveness is a blend of five of Burial’s “finest stout bases” that was then “conditioned upon Thai banana, house toasted coconut, luscious strawberry, Madagascar vanilla bean, and a dose of dry roasted peanuts.” Coming in at 15% ABV, The Ostensible Realities of Fanatical Unforgiveness will have you “[sinking] into heaping scoops of vanilla ice cream topped with molten chocolate syrup, fresh strawberries, vanilla whipped coconut cream, and caramelized banana all with a dash of chopped Virginia peanuts.”

The Ostensible Realities of Fanatical Unforgiveness – available in 500ml bottles – will release at noon on June 1 at Burial’s Asheville location and in the brewery’s online shop, at 2 p.m. at the brewery’s Raleigh taproom, and 4 p.m. in the Charlotte taproom. The Original 40 Brewing Company Sets Date for Limited Release of Rafiki’s Ritual Imperial Stout

The Original 40 Brewing Company (San Diego, California) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Bottle Release of Rafiki’s Ritual Barrel-aged Imperial Stout and Cocoa & Vanilla Rafiki’s Ritual on May 7, 2022.

Crafted to be the epitome of decadence, Rafiki’s Ritual (12% ABV) is an Imperial Stout – “brewed at over 40 plato before the yeast started their work converting half of the sugar to alcohol” – that was aged in Bourbon barrels for over 30 months. To take it one step further, a portion of this tasty treat was set aside to be hit with “a large amount of three types of cocoa and Madagascar bourbon vanilla beans” to create Cocoa & Vanilla Rafiki’s Ritual. This treatment creates “aromas of bourbon and chocolate . . . alongside notes of sweet caramel and shortbread cookie” as notes of “creme brulee, toasted marshmallow, brown sugar and coffee lead into a clean bourbon chapter that refreshingly cleanses the palate. Just when you think the ritual is complete, the sweet notes return with touches of roast and bourbon cask.”

Big Storm Brewing Co. (Clearwater, Florida) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Hops for Hunger, a special collaboration project with Feeding Tampa Bay, on February 3, 2022.

Brewed to assist the “approximately one million people [who] are food insecure in our 10-county region,” Hops for Hunger (4.8% ABV) is a Honey Wheat Orange Ale that will donate “a percentage of every beer sold . . . to better serve our neighbors with the compassion they deserve.” The money raised will assist Feeding Tampa Bay in their mission that had them “[serving] nearly 95 million meals last year.”

Hops for Hunger debuts today and will hang around only as long as supplies last. This Limited Release will be available by the 16 oz. can at Big Storm’s four taprooms – Clearwater, Orlando, Odessa and Cape Coral. Prost!

Crafted to be “a classic rendition of German Helles portrayed through [Burial’s] own lense,” Ultralight is a Helles-style Lager “made with Pilsner and Vienna malts, decocted and step mashed for depth, . . . spunded in the cellar for natural carbonation, . . . Burial Beer Co. Announces Return of Thresher Coffee Saison

Burial Beer Co. (Asheville, North Carolina) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Thresher on Wednesday, September 22.

A “return to one of [Burial’s] first ever realms of experimentation,” Thresher is a Saison “mashed with Barley and Wheat” and then “aged with Honduran Finca El Puente coffee beans from Counter Culture Coffee.” Coming in at 4.5% ABV, this year’s iteration of Thresher “brings bright golden raisin, plum and vanilla bean to [the] delicately wheat-driven saison base.”

A limited amount of Thresher – available in 4-packs of 12 oz. bottles for $14 – will be available for online presale for pickup at Burial Beer Co.’s Asheville taproomRaleigh taproom and Charlotte taproom at noon on September 22.
