Spectrology Sour Next Up for Curbside Release at Heavy Seas Beer

Heavy Seas Beer (Baltimore, Maryland) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Curbside Release of Spectrology Sour on Friday, April 30.

The latest release to come out of Heavy Seas Beer’s 15 Barrel Brewhouse, Spectrology Sour is a tropically-themed Sour Ale boasting additions of pineapple, passion fruit and mango purees. Coming in at 8% ABV, the “tart, and freakishly tropical” Spectrology Sour is a “sour and juicy treat . . . best enjoyed in the company of other ghost hunters.”

“We wanted to create a freakishly tropical sour for the spring” says Heavy Seas Associate Brand Manager, Amanda Zivkovic. “Spectrology Sour has layers and layers of fruit flavor in every sip!” 

“Always looking to work with new products and techniques, we’ve employed a unique lactic acid producing strain of yeast to create this tart, fruity sour,” comments Heavy Seas Brewmaster Christopher Leonard. “Pineapple, mango, and passion fruit purees lend a bright tropical nose to the beer. Rogue Ales Adds Raspberry Tartlandia to Seasonal Lineup

Rogue Ales (Newport, Oregon) has officially announced that it will begin the Seasonal Release of Raspberry Tartlandia in May 2021.

Developed to serve as an “homage to [Rogue’s] home in Oregon . . . [and] the culinary wonderland that is Portland,” Raspberry Tartlandia is a Gose-style Ale “brewed with raspberry, coriander and hand-harvested salt from Newport’s Yaquina Bay.” Coming in at a refreshing 4.9% ABV, Raspberry Tartlandia is “a flavor-packed experience, just like visiting Portland, that’ll make you want to move there or thank your lucky stars that you already have.”

“Rogue headquarters have been located on the Oregon Coast for over thirty years and Newport means so much to us,” says Hagen Moore, VP of Marketing & Creative. “We are constantly getting inspiration from our surroundings and the people nearby. Indeed Brewing Company Adds Aquafuzz Hazy IPA to Year-Round Portfolio

Indeed Brewing Company (Minneapolis, Minnesota) has officially announced that Aquafuzz Hazy IPA, the brewery’s first Hazy IPA released in cans, will join its Year-Round lineup in late April 2021.

Dialed in “after a year-long research and development process at the pilot brewery in Milwaukee and on a larger scale at the Northeast Minneapolis brewery,” Aquafuzz is a Hazy/Juicy India Pale Ale featuring Galaxy, Strata, Cascade, Mosaic and HBC 586 hops. Coming in at 7.2% ABV and 40 IBUs, Aquafuzz “will be released in batches and in and out of the market quickly to ensure maximum freshness and a consistent haze.”

“This is our first packaged hazy IPA, and we wanted to make sure we did it right. There’s not a lot of room for error in this style of beer; the freshness factor is crucial,” says Ryan Bandy, Sales Director. “We’re pre-selling cans into accounts and pulsing the release in batches so that we can be sure that consumers are getting the best possible hazy, both in regards to the recipe and state of the beer.”

Sierra Nevada Releases 2021 Edition of Hoptimum Triple IPA

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. (Chico, California) has officially announced that it will welcome back Hoptimum Triple IPA for a Limited Release beginning in mid-April 2021.

Lovingly known as Sierra Nevada’s hoppiest beer, the 2021 version of Hoptimum is an Imperial India Pale Ale featuring “Magnum, Idaho 7, El Dorado, and Mosaic hops on the hot side, and finishes by dry hopping with Citra, Mosaic lupulin powder, Loral, and Magnum hops.” Coming in at 11% ABV (“the highest ABV ever” for this ever-evolving recipe), Hoptimum is “flavorful and aggressive, yet refined” to result in a “remarkably drinkable triple IPA.”

“Traditionally, we try to maintain that piney, citrusy flavor because it’s what we’re known for,” explains James Conery, Innovation Manager and brewer at Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. “This beer contains the best lots of the hop pick, and has that piney, citrusy flavor with a little bit of dank and stonefruit in there for a twist.”

Hoptimum is scheduled to return in mid-April and will hang around as long as supplies last through August 2021.
