Burial Beer Co. (Asheville, North Carolina) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Can Release of Ultralight on December 1, 2021.

Crafted to be “a classic rendition of German Helles portrayed through [Burial’s] own lense,” Ultralight is a Helles-style Lager “made with Pilsner and Vienna malts, decocted and step mashed for depth, . . . spunded in the cellar for natural carbonation, . . . [and then] delicately hopped with Hallertau Mittelfruh to pay homage to its origin before lagering for many weeks to beautiful clarity.” Coming in at 5% ABV, Ultralight offers notes of “fresh loaves of crusty country bread, bouquets of fall blossoms, and mugs of, well I’ll just say it, beer.”

Ultralight will be available on December 1 for online presale for shipping and pickup at Burial’s Asheville, Raleigh and Charlotte taprooms, and limited distribution will follow shortly after that date. Duke’s Mayo & Champion Brewing Collaborate on Family Recipe Vienna Lager

Champion Brewing Company (Charlottesville, Virginia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Family Recipe, a special collaboration project with the icon that is Duke’s Mayonnaise, on August 20, 2021.

Named to honor “Duke’s mayo founder Eugenia Duke’s legendary recipe,” Family Recipe is a Vienna-style Lager “made with Vienna malt, Magnum, and Saaz hops.” Coming in at 5.1% ABV, Family Recipe was developed specifically to be “the perfect lager to pair with the south’s favorite sandwich – a mouthwatering, Duke’s-slathered BLT.”

“The spirit of this collaboration truly encapsulates the Duke’s brand – it’s bold, southern, and a little saucy,” said Duke’s Brand Marketing Manager of Mayohem, Rebecca Lupesco. “Champion has perfected the art of beer and food pairings with Family Recipe – sun-ripened, juicy tomatoes, crispy bacon, lots of Duke’s mayo, and a refreshing sipping beer is basically what summertime is made for.”
