Shiner Beer Adds ¡Órale! Mexican-style Lager to Portfolio

Shiner Beer (Shiner, Texas) has officially announced that it will introduce ¡Órale!, Mexican-Style Cerveza, in May 2022.

Developed to serve as “a rallying cry for an adventurous day or night out,” ¡Órale! is a Mexican-style Lager “crafted with premium 2-row malt and Lager yeast and brewed with agave.” Coming in at 4.5% ABV, ¡Órale! is “crisp and sessionable, pairing especially well with spicy, flavorful foods.”

“I am thrilled at the opportunity to combine my Mexican heritage with a Mexican style lager bearing the Shiner label and the Spoetzl Brewery’s commitment to quality,” says Carlos Alvarez, CEO of The Gambrinus Company in San Antonio, TX, who acquired the Spoetzl Brewery in 1989. “I know Shiner fans will enjoy ¡Orale! – a word that expresses so much in the Spanish language.”

¡Órale! is rolling out now and will be available Year-Round in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans, 12-packs of 12 oz. cans, 6-packs of 12 oz. bottles and 12-packs of 12 oz. bottles. Shiner Oktoberfest Makes Annual Return

A true embodiment of Spoetzl Brewery’s Bavarian roots, Shiner Oktoberfest is a traditional Märzen-style Ale brewed with the “highest-quality Two-Row Barley, Munich, and Caramel malts, along with German grown Hallertau Tradition and Hersbrucker hops.”  Coming in at 4.48% ABV and 18 IBUs, Shiner Oktoberfest boasts “a rich malty aroma, with a caramel sweetness that fades to a dry, hoppy finish.”

Shiner Oktoberfest is rolling out now and will be available for a limited time. Spoetzl Brewery & Balcones Distilling Team Up to Release Limited-Edition Spoetzl Märzen

SpoetzlMarzen2cropSpoetzl Brewery (Shiner, Texas) has announced that it will officially begin the Limited Release of Spoetzl Märzen, a barrel-aged collaboration with Balcones Distilling (Waco, Texas), in October 2018.

Created as a joint effort from “two Texas icons who share a passion for supreme craftsmanship and appreciation for things done well”, Spoetzl Märzen is a massive Märzen-style Lager brewed with imported Munich malts, “hopped with prized Hallertau and Hersbrucker varietals and krausened twice to round out the lightly toasted, spicy malt flavors.”  Once the brewing process was completed, the beer was then sent to mature in “barrels that formerly housed the award-winning single malt whisky” from Balcones Distilling.  Well-aged and fully-matured, the “labor of love” that is Spoetzl Märzen (11% ABV and 32 IBUs) has emerged from its rest as a “coppery-orange hued, hop-forward brew [that has] notes of caramel and oak from the whisky-imbued barrels offering a smooth, lingering finish that adds depth and character.”

Barrel-aging is wildly popular from beer to coffee, not to mention the original way to make a Märzen-style lager. Shiner Beer Releases Strawberry Blonde as New Summer Seasonal

Previously released in 2015 as a part of the brewery’s Brewer’s Pride Series, Shiner Strawberry Blonde is making a comeback this summer with a new look as a Seasonal release.  Pale and Wheat malts lay the foundation for this beer, and then the brewers at Shiner give it a refreshing infusion of “juicy homegrown strawberries from Poteet, Texas.”  At just 4.3% ABV, Shiner Strawberry Blonde comes together as an incredibly quenching beer with a crisp finish.  Shiner Strawberry Blonde officially replaces Shiner Prickly Pear as this year’s summer Seasonal from Shiner Beer/Spoetzl Brewery.
