New Belgium Brewing Goes Organic & Low-Calorie with Launch of The Purist Clean Lager

NewBelgiumThePuristCanNew Belgium Brewing (Fort Collins, Colorado) has officially announced that it will introduce The Purist Clean Lager, a USDA Certified Organic beer with only 95 calories, as the brewery’s newest Year-Round offering in mid-March 2020.

Meticulously crafted to be “a whole new idea of what beer can be,” The Purist is a Light Lager featuring “pristine, first-use mountain water, organic Oregon barley from the oldest maltster in the Western United States – Great Western Malting – and organic hops grown on a single farm in Oregon’s Willamette Valley.  By honoring the ingredients at every stage of the rigorous process, The Purist is in a new class of its own.”  Incredibly clean, light and refreshing, The Purist weighs in at just 3.8% ABV, 95 calories and 3 grams of carbs.

“This is probably the most technically challenging beer I have ever brewed,” said Cody Reif, Research and Development Brewer at New Belgium. “Sourcing organic ingredients to brew a flavorful beer proved to be just short of impossible, but that was only half the battle. Getting the brewing process right was the other half, and I honestly believe we are the only craft brewery in the country that can deliver a beer like this.”

The Purist Clean Lager is scheduled to roll out in mid-March with availability in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans (suggested retail price of $8.99 – $9.99).  You can expect to find this new Year-Round offering at craft beer-friendly establishments located in Alabama, Florida, Colorado, North Carolina and throughout the rest of New Belgium’s nationwide distribution network. Prost!
