Avery Brewing Co. (Boulder, Colorado) has officially announced that it will begin the Seasonal Release of The Kaiser, an Imperial Oktoberfest Lager, in late August 2020.

Brewed each year to serve as Avery Brewing Co.’s “emboldened ‘Prost!’ to one of the world’s most recognized styles,” The Kaiser “weaves together rich, toasted Vienna and Munich malts with the floral spiciness of Hallertau and Bravo hops to create a bold and brazen dry Imperial Oktoberfest” Lager. Coming in at an attention-getting 8% ABV, The Kaiser “demands a following through its deep dark malt bill, aromas of toast, nuts, and bread, all pulled together with a boisterous booziness.”

The Kaiser is rolling out now and is scheduled to hang around through October 2020. You can expect to find this Seasonal Release available in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans and on draft at select craft beer-friendly establishments located in Colorado and other select markets located within Avery’s distribution network. Avery Brewing Co. Looks Toward Summer with Limited Release of Paws & Claws IPA

AveryPawsClawsPourAvery Brewing Co. (Boulder, Colorado) has officially announced that it will introduce Paws & Claws IPA in late March as the brewery’s new summer Limited Release.

Developed to “highlight the beauty of both West Coast and East Coast IPAs in one argument-crushing beer,” Paws & Claws is a style-defying India Pale Ale that uses new school dry hopping techniques to achieve a “genuine and juicy haze, while Simcoe, Centennial, Chinook, and Cascade hops deliver the piney hop flavor and aroma of your favorite West Coast IPA.”  Coming in at 7.5% ABV and 50 IBUs, Paws & Claws IPA boasts “the zip of west coast hops and the more tropical and melon notes of hazy IPAs.”

“We’re constantly told to pick a side,” says founder Adam Avery. “But we think that’s dumb. Instead of feeding the hazy vs. clarity war, we created Paws & Claws IPA to bring people together.”

Meant to be a “barrel-aged beer that [you do not] have to save for special occasions,” Night Warden is an Imperial Stout that possesses a “balanced, roasted malt bill and strong notes of vanilla and caramel from” aging in fresh whiskey barrels.  Coming in at 8.2% ABV, the “smooth and full-bodied” Night Warden was specifically designed to have “both rich barrel-aged characteristics and a reasonable ABV.”

Designated as installment No. 55 in Avery Brewing Co.’s one-and-done, gold foil Barrel-Aged Series, Old Grumbler is a blend of 12-month and 24-month Rum Barrel-Aged Old Ales.  Coming in at an ornery 17.2% ABV, Old Grumbler is “begrudgingly here, in this bottle, and ready to wallop anyone who sets foot on his lawn. Resurrected by Avery Brewing so that he may resume “his evil duties on earth,” Mephistopheles – also known as “the crafty shapeshifter, the second fallen angel; he who does not love light” – is a “midnight black” Imperial Stout “dominated by roasted and black malts” laced with “notes of anise with an espresso finish.” Coming in at a menacing 14.5% ABV, Mephistopheles hopes to lure you “into his darkness, a tangled and intricate labyrinth of bittersweet rapture.”
