Yuengling Makes $100,000 Commitment to Support First Responders & Hospitality Community during COVID-19

Yuengling & Son, Inc. (Pottsville, Pennsylvania), America’s Oldest Brewery®, has officially announced that it is stepping up to provide relief during the COVID-19 public health crisis by committing $100,000 to support the Gary Sinise Foundation and its Emergency COVID-19 Combat Service campaign and the Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association’s newly established Hospitality Assistance Response of Pennsylvania (HARP) fund for affected hospitality workers.

We have learned that the best way to get through tough times is to stick together and support one another. We firmly believe in these efforts to assist our communities as they grapple with the unprecedented impact of COVID-19,” said Wendy Yuengling, Chief Administrative Officer and 6th generation family member, D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc. “We are proud to work alongside nonprofit partners who are able to support heroes on the front lines and our communities in need, including the Gary Sinise Foundation and HARP. The first step in Yuengling’s two-part relief plan is “donating to the Gary Sinise Foundation’s dedicated campaign called the Emergency COVID-19 Combat Service, which will go exclusively towards providing grants to first responders within Yuengling’s 22-state footprint.”  These grants are specifically designed to “assist first responders, especially those within volunteer organizations that have limited resources, in purchasing personal protective equipment (PPE) and essential gear needed when answering COVID-19 service calls.”  The Emergency COVID-19 Combat Service also makes “financial assistance . . . available to healthcare professionals, service members, veterans, first responders, and their families who have been impacted by the novel coronavirus.”

The second part in Yuengling’s COVID-19 relief efforts focuses on the “importance on helping communities within its home state of Pennsylvania.”  Yuengling has partnered with the Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association to become a “Founding Donor of the newly established HARP fund, which will provide immediate emergency funding to frontline employees of Pennsylvania’s hospitality businesses, bartenders, servers and waitstaff who are experiencing significant hardships due to the abrupt closure of their bars, restaurants and hotels.”  Donations can be made directly to HARP by clicking here.

Yuengling Introduces FLIGHT as ‘The Next Generation of Light Beer’

Developed with the intention to “[redefine] what consumers deserve in an upscale light beer,” FLIGHT is a Light Lager meticulously crafted with Yuengling’s “190 years of brewing expertise.” Coming in at just 4.5% ABV, 95 calories and 2.6 grams of carbs, FLIGHT is “a crisp, easy-to-drink beer that will complement the brewery’s existing portfolio of brands.”

Yuengling Launches Golden Pilsner as First New Core Product in 17 Years

Arriving as the first new Year-Round beer to debut for Yuengling in 17 years and the “first for [the] sixth generation of brewers at America’s Oldest Brewery®”, Golden Pilsner has been developed with an “all malt” – no adjuncts added – recipe that “combines pale and specialty malts, and Hallertau and Saaz hops, to create a bold, noble hop flavored brew with a smooth, clean finish.”  Weighing in at a light and refreshing 4.7% ABV and 135 calories, Yuengling Golden Pilsner strives to supply beer drinkers with a “New Standard in Refreshment”.
