Jug & Bottle Dept. (Tampa, Florida) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Jug Beer, a special Tampa Bay Beer Week collaboration project with Hidden Springs Ale Works (Tampa Florida), on Tuesday, March 9.

Created to give everyone “a damn drinkable beer” they can enjoy all Tampa Bay Beer Week, Jug Beer is a Session India Pale Ale featuring Sabro, Strata and Citra hops. Coming in at 5.7% ABV, Jug Beer is “an ale that you can slam back anytime. An ale from the limescale waters of Tampa, Florida. A silver medal’r and a red ribbon winner.”

Jug Beer – available in 16 oz. cans – will drop at both Jug & Bottle Dept. (6203 N Florida Ave | Tampa, Florida) and Hidden Springs Ale Works (1631 N Franklin St | Tampa, Florida) on Tuesday, March 9 and will hang around only as long as supplies last. Jug Beer will not see distribution. Prost!

Highland Brewing Adds Peachful to Seasonal Portfolio

Highland Brewing (Asheville, North Carolina) has officially announced that Peachful, a Fresh & Fruity Ale, will join the brewery’s Seasonal lineup in late February/early March 2021.

Here to give you an early jump on spring, Peachful is a Fruit Beer “brimming with peaches” and boasting additions of Amarillo, Saphir and Simcoe hops. Coming in at an easy-drinking 5.2% ABV, Peachful “brings to mind afternoons on the porch with a soft southern breeze.”

Peachful is rolling out now and will be available throughout the months of Spring 2021. You can expect to find this new Seasonal available in 6-packs of 12 oz. bottles and on draft at select craft beer-focused establishments located within Highland’s distribution footprint in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, and Georgia. Bay Cannon Beer Company (Tampa, Florida) has officially announced that Peter, a Hazy Pale Ale, will return for a limited time beginning on March 5.

Back just in time to kick off Tampa Bay Beer Week 2021, Peter is a Hazy/Juicy Pale Ale featuring Julius and Citra hops. Coming in at 5.5%, Peter is a “light Pale Ale, little juicy, little earthy, little bitter, just a great balanced hazy pale.”

Peter – available in 4-packs and single 16 oz. cans – will hit Bay Cannon’s taproom on March 5 and will hang around only as long as supplies last. Peter is a brewery only release and is not expected to see distribution at this time. Prost!

Wild Leap Brew Co. Continues Limited DIPA Series With Release of Alpha Abstraction Vol. 16

Wild Leap Brew Co. (LaGrange, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Alpha Abstraction – Vol. 16 in early March 2021.

The latest release in Wild Leap’s experimental Double IPA Series that “explores hop varieties and features a varied hop profile in each volume,” Alpha Abstraction – Vol. 16 is Hazy/Juicy Double India Pale Ale double dry-hopped with the “elusive” Hopsteiner EXP 06300 hops. Coming in at 8% ABV, Alpha Abstraction – Vol. 16 “[delivers] passion fruit and tropical flavors with hints of orange and creamy caramel.”

“There are many experimental hop varieties that come and go every year from hop producers, but unlike the experimental hops we’ve used for the Alpha Series in the past, the Hopsteiner EXP 06300 is on its way out of the market,” says Elliott. “Due to the low yields it produced, the hop producer is no longer allocating acreage for this variety. This is unfortunate because it instantly became one of our favorite hops. It’s full of clean and balanced tropical and caramel notes, so enjoy it while it lasts!”

Alpha Abstraction – Vol. 16 officially released on March 1 and will be available only as long as supplies last. You can expect to find this Limited Release available in 12 oz. cans and on draft at select craft beer-focused establishments located within Wild Leap’s distribution footprint in Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina. Developed to capture the “lighter side of IPA” at New Realm Brewing Company, beLOW is a sessionable Hazy/Juicy India Pale Ale “anchored by one of the company’s favorite hop combinations and a meticulously engineered brewing process.” Coming in at just 4% ABV, 20 IBUs, 99 calories and 4.2g of carbs, the “light, crisp and refreshing” beLOW “is the perfect balance of bright citrusy notes, drinkability and low-carb profile.”
