Burial Beer Co. (Asheville, North Carolina) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of The Ostensible Realities of Fanatical Unforgiveness, a special collaboration with Resident Culture Brewing Company (Asheville, North Carolina), on Wednesday, June 1.

Inspired by the wonder found in a “a coconut milk ice cream vegan banana split,” The Ostensible Realities of Fanatical Unforgiveness is a blend of five of Burial’s “finest stout bases” that was then “conditioned upon Thai banana, house toasted coconut, luscious strawberry, Madagascar vanilla bean, and a dose of dry roasted peanuts.” Coming in at 15% ABV, The Ostensible Realities of Fanatical Unforgiveness will have you “[sinking] into heaping scoops of vanilla ice cream topped with molten chocolate syrup, fresh strawberries, vanilla whipped coconut cream, and caramelized banana all with a dash of chopped Virginia peanuts.”

The Ostensible Realities of Fanatical Unforgiveness – available in 500ml bottles – will release at noon on June 1 at Burial’s Asheville location and in the brewery’s online shop, at 2 p.m. at the brewery’s Raleigh taproom, and 4 p.m. in the Charlotte taproom. Burial Beer Co. Lightens Things Up with Release of Ultralight Lager

Burial Beer Co. (Asheville, North Carolina) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Can Release of Ultralight on December 1, 2021.

Crafted to be “a classic rendition of German Helles portrayed through [Burial’s] own lense,” Ultralight is a Helles-style Lager “made with Pilsner and Vienna malts, decocted and step mashed for depth, . . . spunded in the cellar for natural carbonation, . . . [and then] delicately hopped with Hallertau Mittelfruh to pay homage to its origin before lagering for many weeks to beautiful clarity.” Coming in at 5% ABV, Ultralight offers notes of “fresh loaves of crusty country bread, bouquets of fall blossoms, and mugs of, well I’ll just say it, beer.”

Ultralight will be available on December 1 for online presale for shipping and pickup at Burial’s Asheville, Raleigh and Charlotte taprooms, and limited distribution will follow shortly after that date. A “return to one of [Burial’s] first ever realms of experimentation,” Thresher is a Saison “mashed with Barley and Wheat” and then “aged with Honduran Finca El Puente coffee beans from Counter Culture Coffee.” Coming in at 4.5% ABV, this year’s iteration of Thresher “brings bright golden raisin, plum and vanilla bean to [the] delicately wheat-driven saison base.”

Carefully crafted to be the ultimate summertime drinker, One Of Us Will Have To Bury The Other is a Mexican-style Lager “made with pale pilsner with a touch of Vienna and Munich malt, fermented bone dry, and aged in [Burial’s] American oak foudre.” Coming in at 5% ABV, One Of Us Will Have To Bury The Other offers notes of “freshly baked honey toast with hints of corn laced with palm tree daydreams.”

Concocted to be an even more decadent take on Burial’s infamous Skillet Donut Stout “made from a blend of nine barley malts, a healthy scoop of oats, milk and molasses sugars, and [their] favorite blend of freshly roasted Counter Culture Coffee beans,” Skillet Snacks takes the OG Skillet and “[ages it] upon heaps of house-made peanut butter, French Broad Chocolates Cocoa Nibs, fresh vanilla bean, and some candy sugars.” Coming in at 8% ABV, Skillet Snacks offers a “fistful of molten reeces cups chased with bags of M&M’s and washed down with caramel hot chocolate.”
