Burial Beer Co. Set for Return of The Savages of Ruminating Minds IPA

Burial Beer Co. (Asheville, North Carolina) has officially announced that it will kick off a series of Asheville Beer Week 2020 releases with the Limited Can Release of The Savages of Ruminating Minds IPA on Wednesday, May 27.

Known to be Burial Beer Co.’s “favorite” IPA, The Savages of Ruminating Minds (7.2% ABV) is a Hazy/Juicy India Pale Ale double dry-hopped with Mosaic, Motueka, and Idaho 7 hops. This juicy hop bill provides a sensory experience filled with “zip locks of blueberry kush, fresh pressed key lime and crushed orange dum dum.”

The Savages of Ruminating Minds – available in 4-packs of 16 oz. cans – will hit Burial Beer Co.’s online shop at noon on May 27 for presale for pick up and delivery at the brewery’s Asheville and Raleigh locations. Online sales for nationwide shipping (where permitted) will begin at noon on May 28. There is no word at this time as to whether or not The Savages of Ruminating Minds will see regular distribution. Creature Comforts & Burial Beer Co. Collaborate on Culture Keepers Maibock

CreatureBurial_editedCreature Comforts Brewing Co. (Athens, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Culture Keepers, a Maibock brewed in collaboration with Burial Beer Co. (Asheville, North Carolina), on Friday, May 22.

The second of two collaborations under the same name that “features a perfectly balanced combination of traditional malt and hop qualities,” this installment of Culture Keepers is a Maibock that has “Czech Saaz, German Hallertauer Hersbrucker, and US Santiam hops blend wonderfully together with Epiphany’s Ursprung Fest Malt, and Munich malt.”  Coming in at 7% ABV, Culture Keepers “[captures] the traditional essence of bock beer.”

Culture Keepers Maibock will officially hit Creature Comforts Brewing Co. for to-go pickup in 4-packs of 16 oz. cans on May 22, but you can go ahead and pre-order your stash on CraftCellr now by clicking here.  In addition to the brewery release, a limited amount of Culture Keepers Maibock will be sent into distribution within Creature Comforts Brewing Co.’s footprint in Georgia.  Prost!

Brewed as an “ode to the Sirens and the Silences,” We Didn’t Need a Real World is an Imperial India Pale Ale “mashed with Oats and Candi Sugars” and triple dry-hopped with Galaxy, Citra and Amarillo Cryo hops.  Coming in at 10% ABV, We Didn’t Need a Real World is loaded down with “pocketfuls of peach rings, scoops of orange sherbert, and two fists of mango-filled creamsicles.”

“These are beings. They are matter made from energy in the air, figments of spontaneous interaction. They are cataclysmic meanderings of routine disaster. And we shall walk among their graves in the most mundane of trappings.”

Burial Beer Co. Schedules Limited Release of Idol for None Imperial Stout

BurialBeerLogoBlackBurial Beer Co. (Asheville, North Carolina) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Bottle Release of Idol for None, a breakfast-inspired Imperial Stout, on Wednesday, April 22.

Meant to capture the “uncanny wave of nostalgia” found within a stack of syrup-soaked pancakes, Idol for None is an Imperial Stout “made with loads of maple, maple wood smoked sea salt, [Spicewalla Brand] Vietnamese cinnamon and whole Madagascar vanilla beans.”  Coming in at a decadent 14% ABV, Idol for None provides a rich sensory experience awash in notes of “fresh johnny cakes, maple bourbon sauce, and toasted cinnamon crunch.”

Idol for None – available in 500ml bottles for $18 each – will officially release on April 22, and online orders for national shipping (where permitted) and local pickup and delivery from Burial’s Asheville and Raleigh locations can be placed at 8 p.m. that night. Bearded Iris Brewing & Burial Beer Co. Collaborate on Snowed In Imperial Stout

BeardedIrisBurialBearded Iris Brewing (Nashville, Tennessee) has officially announced that it will hold a Limited Can Release for Snowed In, a Pastry Stout brewed in collaboration with Burial Beer Co. (Asheville, North Carolina), at noon on Friday, January 3.

Meant to mimic the experience of a “delicate marjolaine cake”, Snowed In is an Imperial Stout that “intricately blends layers of dark chocolate, meringue-creamy vanilla bean, the rich warmth of almonds and hazelnuts, roasty coffee beans, and a rounded lactose finish.”

Snowed In will officially release in the Taproom at Bearded Iris Brewing at noon on January 3. This Limited Release offering will be available in 16 oz. cans and on draft during the release event. Snowed In is a brewery exclusive release and is not expected to see distribution.  Prost!

Cascade Brewing & Burial Beer Co. Collaborate on Chêne des Fous Sour Ale

CascadeBurialCascade Brewing (Portland, Oregon) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Chêne des Fous 2018, a special collaboration project with Burial Beer Co. (Asheville, North Carolina), on October 11, 2019.

Pronounced “shen de-FOO” and translating to mean “Oak of the Fools,” Chêne des Fous is “a blend of sour triple ales aged for up to 18 months in French oak barrels with dried sumac, fresh apricots and toasted American oak chains.”  Weighing in at 9.7% ABV, Chêne des Fous offers its drinker “intense oak flavors . . . met with savory lemon and dried fruit notes from the sumac and a subtle stone fruit aroma.”

Chêne des Fous 2018 will debut in Cascade’s two Portland pubs – Cascade Brewing Barrel House and Lodge at Cascade Brewing – on October 11 and will also make special appearance at Burial Beer Co.’s Burnpile Harvest Fest on Saturday, October 12. This Limited Release offering will hit distribution on October 11 as well, and you can expect to find it available in 500ml bottles and on draft at select craft beer-focused establishments located in Alabama, Florida, Oregon and throughout the rest of Cascade Brewing’s distribution area.  Prost!

Cascade Brewing Announces 2019 Product Release Calendar

cascadenewlogoBeer calendar season is still alive and well, and we are kicking this week off with a peek at the 2019 Product Release Calendar from Cascade Brewing (Portland, Oregon).

Just as we do with each and every beer calendar around here, we have posted Cascade Brewing’s full Product Release Calendar below for you to absorb at your convenience.  With that said, this document is rich in highlights and we would be remiss if we did not go over a few of those real fast.  Let’s get to it:

  • The biggest news on this calendar is that the ever-elusive Vlad the Imp Aler (September) and Bourbonic Plague (December) will both see full distribution in 2019. Both offerings will be available in 500ml bottles for the first time.
  • The brewery’s Core Lineup will feature four new releases in 2019: Valley Flora (January), a sour red ale made with Willamette Valley Pinot-Noir grapes; Brunch Line (February), a mimosa-inspired blend of sour blond and wheat ales aged in oak barrels with Chardonnay grapes and fresh orange zest; Garden Party (June), a blend of sour blond and wheat ales aged in oak barrels with chardonnay grapes, lemon zest and elderflowers; and Coastal Gose (July), a blend of sour wheat ales aged in oak barrels with Oregon Coast sea salt and coriander seed.
  • Cascade’s Collaboration Series will return in 2019 to include projects with Beachwood Brewing from Long Beach, California (March); Mikkel Borg Bjergsø from the world-renowned Mikkeller Brewery in Denmark (May); and Burial Beer Co. of Asheville, North Carolina (October).
  • Cascade Brewing also plans to release four draft-only cellar projects throughout the year.  These offerings will be released quarterly.
