Big Storm Brewing Co. Adds Ice Cream & Coffee to Clearwater Location

Big Storm Brewing Co. (Clearwater, Florida) has announced that it is now serving coffee and handmade ice cream out of a walk-up window located at 12707 49th St. N. next to the brewery’s taproom in Clearwater.

It is quite obvious that the craft beer community in the Tampa area has fully embraced the idea of pastry/dessert beers no matter the temperature or time of year, so it only seems reasonable that these same folks might wish to enjoy some actual dessert alongside their favorite brew.  Recognizing this as a fun, new opportunity for their team, Big Storm Brewing Co. has decided to run with this idea by opening the Big Storm Creamery.

This new ice cream shop features the following 18 indulgent flavors of handmade ice cream and Italian ice: Vanilla, Chocolate, Coffee, Pistachio, Toasted Coconut, Mint Chip, Birthday Cake, Superman, Brownie Fudge, Cookie Dough, Strawberry, Butter Pecan (sugar free), Salted Caramel Pretzel, Gator Tracks, Cyclone, Black Raspberry (sugar free), Mango (Italian Ice) and Lemon (Italian Ice).  Going well beyond just ice cream, the Big Storm Creamery also offers specialty items such as shakes, iced coffees, traditional root beer floats made with Big Storm’s craft root beer, and Big Storm Nitro Coffee Floats made with Big Storm’s cold brew (coffee) and coffee ice cream.

“As a team, we are always looking to expand our creativity and venture into new, exciting products,” said Big Storm partner L.J. Govoni. “Ice cream gives us the opportunity to continue this push. In the near future, we expect to sell beer-inspired small-batch desserts in a manner similar to a ‘Bomber Release’ event; when the ice cream is gone, it’s gone and may never return. Our Executive Chef, Gerry Malynowsky, and Head Brewer, Joel Moore, have been hard at work formulating products such as Tropic Pressure and Oats in Hose inspired alcohol-free ice creams and we are very excited.”

The Big Storm Creamery officially opened last week with the walk-up window keeping the following hours: Monday – Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.  Be sure to check out this unique addition to Big Storm Brewing Co. the next time you find yourself out in Clearwater.  Prost!

LOKOlargeOn Sunday, June 3, LOKO Cuisine and Ichicoro Ramen will team up once again with 7venth Sun Brewery – Tampa (6809 N Nebraska Ave | Tampa, Florida) to host a very special IchiLOKO: Freak Your Tiki Can Release and Beer Dinner.

The creative culinary minds from LOKO Cuisine and Ichicoro (a.k.a. In addition to the beer dinner, 7venth Sun will also be doing a Limited Release of a Tiki Beer in cans.  The can release will begin at noon on June 3 and the cost of the cans are not included in the beer dinner’s ticket cost.  You do not have to attend the beer dinner to participate in the can release.  Also, if things work out, there may be a special bottle release as well.  We will be sure to update you here just as soon as any further information surfaces on the can release and that possible bottle release.  Stay tuned.

If you are free on June 3 and interested in enjoying a Sunday full of awesome in the Seminole Heights area of Tampa, it sounds like the IchiLOKO: Freak Your Tiki festivities at 7venth Sun have you covered.  Just keep in mind that IchiLOKO events tend to sell out quickly, so you should probably just go ahead and lock down your tickets ASAP.  Prost!

Field Trip: VIP Night at Noble Crust – Wesley Chapel

1SignOutdoor_editedOn Saturday, July 15, the Noble Crust hosted a VIP Night and Preview Party for their new location in Wesley Chapel, and we were fortunate enough to receive an invitation to cover the festivities.  Here’s your first look at this fantastic new restaurant taking up residence at the Shops at Wiregrass.

Serving as a benefit for The Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel Foundation, this VIP Night event acted as the perfect platform to introduce the community to Noble Crust and its philosophy that is clearly built on generosity and hospitality.  From the hostess at the door to the proud ownership mingling with the crowd, the entire crew at Noble Crust does absolutely everything they can to make you feel at ease and at home when you visit their restaurant.

And what a beautiful restaurant it is.  Before you enter the restaurant proper, you easily glide through a cozy patio space that has been designed with the ability to tame the Florida heat with breezy fans and a gentle misting system.  As you walk through the front door, your eyes feast on a gorgeous space that includes comfy social dining areas, an immaculate open kitchen, clever lighting that provides a warm ambiance, and one of the most stunning bars in the area.

Take a seat and your attention suddenly shifts to the alluring aromas wafting from the kitchen.  With a menu comprised of seasonal Italian dishes that retain a Southern soul, your options are many.  You can nosh on tasty appetizers such as Deviled Crab Arancini and Ricotta Gnocchi before selecting a main course that could range from one of several of Noble Crust’s incredibly balanced and delicious pizzas to Rigatoni & Short Rib Ragu or some Southern Fried Chicken.  After polishing off your first two courses, be sure to look over the dessert menu because you are definitely going to want to finish off your meal with a slice of Lemon-Buttermilk Pie or a jar of Warm Chocolate Budino.  Finally, and this goes for your entire meal, your Noble Crust experience is not complete unless you pair these delectable dishes with something from the bar.  It could be a of glass wine, a tasty brew from their carefully curated beer list, or one of their many ambrosial house cocktails.  Just find the flavor that best suits you, settle in, sip away and fully savor the complete dining experience that Noble Crust provides.

We could go on and on about our time at Noble Crust, but it is probably best to let our photos do the talking from here on out.  Check out the photos below and, most importantly, be sure to check out Noble Crust – Wesley Chapel as soon as possible.  The restaurant opens to the public this week, and their staff is polished and ready to go.  Make it happen and enjoy what may just be the finest dining option now available in Wesley Chapel.  Prost!
