Creature Comforts Brewing Co. Sets Date for Limited Release of Concurrence Blend No. 7

Creature Comforts Brewing Co. (Athens, Georgia) has officially announced that it will continue its Concurrence Series, a “continued exploration into barrel-aged stouts paired with the finest quality adjunct ingredients,” with the Limited Bottle Release of Concurrence Blend No. 7 on Saturday, February 27.

Inspired heavily by another Creature Comforts offering – My Very Own Mole, the idea behind Concurrence Blend No. 7 (13.9% ABV) starts as an Imperial Stout “made with cocoa nibs from Condor Chocolates, Mexican vanilla beans, pecans from Pearson Farm, benne seed, chili peppers, and cinnamon.” The brewers then take things a step further by “[applying] the beautiful list of primarily local ingredients to a thoughtful blend of apple brandy and bourbon barrel-aged stouts to create a complex, mole-inspired Barrel-Aged Stout.”

Concurrence Blend No. 7 – available in 500ml bottles – is scheduled to release in the Taproom at Creature Comforts Brewing Co. on February 27 and will hang around only as long as supplies last. Concurrence Blend No. 7 is at brewery only release and will not see distribution. Prost!

Creature Comforts Schedules Double Release of Concurrence Blend No. 5 & River Ridge Red

Creature Comforts Brewing Co. (Athens, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin a Double Bottle Release featuring Concurrence Blend No. 5 and River Ridge Red (2019 Harvest) on Saturday, June 20.

The good folks at Creature Comforts Brewing Co. are continuing to bring the goods, and this week they are showcasing a couple of their experimental series with the Limited Releases of the following two beers (descriptions sourced directly from the brewery’s press release):

Concurrence Blend No. 5 – A 13.9% ABV imperial stout aged in High Wire Jimmy Red Corn Bourbon barrels with coconut, Ugandan vanilla, and dulce de leche. Creature Comforts’ Concurrence Blend series is a continued exploration into barrel-aged stouts paired with the finest quality adjunct ingredients.
River Ridge Red (2019 Harvest) – A 6.6% ABV blended oak-aged beer with organic red raspberries from Independence, VA’s River Ridge Organics. This beer honors the crop from River Ridge Organics. Creature Comforts selected the best blend of barrels to honor the complex flavor of the red raspberries featured in the beer. River Ridge Red is a proud addition to Creature Comforts’ fruited mixed-culture farm celebrations, in a continuing effort to explore the historical relationship between brewers and farmers.

Concurrence Blend No. 5 and River Ridge Red (2019 Harvest) – both available in 500ml bottles – will officially release in the Tasting Room at Creature Comforts Brewing Co. on June 20 and will be available only as long as supplies last. Both of these Limited Releases are brewery exclusive offerings and are not expected to see distribution. Prost!

Creature Comforts Brewing Co. Sets Release Date for Concurrence Blend 3

Creature Comforts Brewing Co. (Athens, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Bottle Release of Concurrence Blend 3, a blended barrel-aged Imperial Stout, on September 28.

Arriving as Creature Comforts’ latest “expression of stout, time, and spirits barrels,” Concurrence Blend 3 is a blended Imperial Stout that has been “aged in whiskey barrels with cocoa nibs, chilies, cinnamon, and lactose.” Coming in at a whopping 12.5% ABV, Concurrence Blend 3 is here to guide you on a journey into “the depths of strong ale.”

Concurrence Blend 3 will release alongside Tulsi (click here for more information) in the Tasting Room at Creature Comforts Brewing Co. (271 W. Hancock Ave. | Athens, Georgia) on Saturday, September 28. This Limited Release offering will be available in 750ml bottles as long as supplies last. Concurrence Blend 3 is a Tasting Room exclusive release and is not expected to see distribution. Prost!

Creature Comforts Brewing Co. Set to Release Blends 1 & 2 of Concurrence Imperial Stout

Creature Comforts Brewing Co. (Athens, Georgia) has officially announced that it will introduce Concurrence, a series of Barrel-aged Imperial Stouts, by releasing Blend 1 and Blend 2 on Saturday, July 20.

Created to allow the Creature Comforts crew the opportunity to “[explore] the depths of strong ale”, the Concurrence Series “is a changing expression of stout, time, and spirits barrels.” Each release will establish its own unique identity “through blending and the introduction of various ingredients.”

The Concurrence Series will launch with the Limited Release of the following two Imperial Stouts (descriptions sourced directly from the brewery’s press release):

Concurrence Blend 1 – A Bourbon Barrel-aged Imperial Stout with vanilla beans. This blend is made up of four different bourbon barrels chosen specifically for this particular beer. Creature Comforts used beautiful whole Ugandan vanilla beans at a rate of 4 pounds per bourbon barrel. ABV – 13.7%
Concurrence Blend 2 – An Imperial Stout aged in Rye Whiskey barrels with coffee and cinnamon added. After aging nineteen months in the barrels, the brewery added coffee and cinnamon to the blend. Creature Comforts worked with local 1000 Faces Coffee to source Agua Limpa coffee, a nutty, chocolatey, and rich coffee from Brazil to accent the flavors of this particular beer. ABV – 12.1%

Concurrence Blend 1 and Concurrence Blend 2 will debut in the Tasting Room at Creature Comforts Brewing Co. on July 20. This Limited Release offering will be available in 750ml bottles ($34.99 per bottle) and on draft during the release event. If you wish to secure your bottles in advance, you can make those arrangements on CraftCellr beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 13. Bottle limits will be set at two (2) bottles of each beer per person on CraftCellr and four (4) bottles of each beer per person day of the release event. Concurrence Blend 1 and 2 are both taproom exclusives that will not see distribution. Prost!
