Hi-Wire Brewing Introduces Gimme the Brut DIPA

Hi-Wire-BrewingHi-Wire Brewing (Asheville, North Carolina) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Gimme the Brut Double IPA on Friday, November 9.

Arriving as another example of Hi-Wire Brewing’s continued efforts to “to push the boundaries of the India Pale Ale style”, Gimme the Brut is a Brut Double India Pale Ale “that pushes the limits of how dry a hoppy beer can be. Super spritzy with a champagne-like body, this experimental IPA is sweet and fruity with notes of white grape and an extremely low bitterness at 20 IBUs.”

Gimme the Brut officially enters distribution on November 9 and will hang around as long as supplies last.  You can expect to find this Limited Release available in 4-packs of 16 oz. cans at select craft beer establishments located within Hi-Wire Brewing’s distribution footprint in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and Ohio. Hi-Wire & Highland Brewing Brew Up Plum Nectar Berliner Weisse Collaboration

HighlandBrewingLogoHighland Brewing (Asheville North Carolina) and Hi-Wire Brewing (Asheville, North Carolina) have officially announced that they will release their new collaboration beer Plum Nectar in their respective taprooms on Wednesday, October 17.

Developed from an idea that brewers Sarah Gulotta of Hi-Wire Brewing and Katie Smith of Highland Brewing concocted while interacting together in the Pink Boots Society, Plum Nectar is a Berliner Weisse that has been dry-hopped with Azacca hops and introduced to “17 pounds of plums per barrel.”  This results in a 4.6% ABV Plum Nectar that “blends aromatic citrus and tropical fruit notes from [the] hops with the juicy and sweet character” of the plums.

I love when local breweries work together – it’s all about celebrating our community here in Asheville. Hi-Wire Brewing Adds Hop Circus IPA Program to Year-Round Lineup

Hi-Wire-BrewingHi-Wire Brewing (Asheville, North Carolina) has officially announced that it will add the rotating Hop Circus IPA program to its Year-Round portfolio in October with the release of Hop Circus – Tropical White IPA.

Meant to serve as an “homage to Hi-Wire Brewing’s original launch of what is now their Specialty Program“, the Hop Circus IPA project is a rotating series of India Pale Ales that will “[push] the limits” by having each release “feature different combinations of hops, fruit, or adjuncts, keeping the program fresh and interesting.”  Hopheads can expect for a new Hop Circus IPA offering to hit “the market every three to four months.”

“Our best selling beer is Hi-Pitch Mosaic India Pale Ale, which is a traditional West-Coast Style IPA. We have also been having a blast with our Hazy&Juicy&Hoppy&Fresh series, which rotates some of our favorite hops in a Northeast IPA style. With the Hop Circus series, we get to meet in the middle by experimenting in the wide range of IPA styles, but keeping the beer at a more affordable price point.”

The inaugural release in the Hop Circus IPA project will be a Tropical White IPA that blends “tropical sweet tart flavors from mango and pineapple, with dank white grape and citrus notes from Hallertau Blanc and Citra” hops.  With “a heavy-handed portion of flaked wheat” acting as the recipe’s linchpin, Hop Circus – Tropical White IPA comes together to be a “bright and silky brew” that clocks in at just 6% ABV.

Weighing in at a super light 4.2% ABV, Pink Drink provides an “ultra crushable” experience that achieves “the perfect balance of raspberry fruit sweetness & fresh candied-lemon aroma from lemongrass.”

Emerging once again from Hi-Wire Brewing’s Specialty Series, Man Eater is an aggressively hopped Double India Pale Ale that “marries Amarillo’s spicy aromas with Citra’s classic notes of lemon zest and mandarin orange.” Meant to satisfy the cravings of the most dedicated hop fiends out there, Man Eater Double IPA (8.3% ABV) offers an experience filled with “big hop aromas [that accompany] a spicy, citrusy, floral flavor with a warming alcohol finish.”

Hi-Wire Brewing Revives Tropical Fruit Golden Ale

Arriving as the year’s second offering in Hi-Wire’s newly established High Gravity 4-pack series, Tropical Fruit Golden Ale – originally released in 2015 as a “one-time release” – is an American-style Golden Strong Ale that incorporates the use of “fresh fruit to complement the tropical flavors and aromas present in Citra hops.”  To get the most out of the featured fruits, the brewers at Hi-Wire added “guava, papaya, and mango . . . during secondary fermentation to create a dank, tropical fruit-forward profile.”  Although this “high octane beer” clocks in at 11.3% ABV, Tropical Fruit Golden Ale remains “deceptively drinkable” as the “big fruit flavors . . . mask the heat of this dank & sticky beer.”

Hi-Wire Brewing to Release 2018 Collaboration Mixed 12-Pack

Hi-Wire-BrewingHi-Wire Brewing (Asheville, North Carolina) has announced that it will officially release its 2018 Collaboration Mixed 12-Pack with Against The Grain Brewery (Louisville, Kentucky), Blackberry Farm Brewery (Walland, Tennessee) and Trophy Brewing Co. (Raleigh, North Carolina) in mid-February.

In the spirit of sharing their “craft with respected peers in the Southeast”, the folks at Hi-Wire Brewing recently brought in “longtime [friends] and connections” from Against the Grain, Blackberry Farm and Trophy Brewing Co. so that they could develop some creative offerings to be featured in the 2018 version of their annually released Collaboration Mixed 12-pack.  This year’s featured collaboration beers are as follows (descriptions provided by Hi-Wire Brewing):

  • Against the Grain Brewery Dark Coffee Lager: “We took special care to let the beautiful fruit notes from naturally processed Ethiopian coffee via Dynamite Roasting sing in this collaboration with our buddies from Against The Grain Brewery in Louisville, Kentucky. Aromatic notes of fresh ground coffee beans, hazelnut, cherry, and new leather meld perfectly with a soothing dark malt sweetness and hints of fresh baked bread with a clean, crisp finish.” (5.5% ABV)
  • Blackberry Farm Brewery – A Wee Bit More Hops Tropical Saison: “In our collaboration with Blackberry Farm Brewery we decided to celebrate Blackberry Farm’s world class house Saison yeast strain by pairing it with a plethora of tropically aggressive American hops, including a mid fermentation hop addition for added depth. Azacca, El Dorado, and Mosaic shine with magnificent aromas of mango, papaya, juicy fruit, and white grape while a slight bitterness and dry finish preps the palette for another sip.” (6.2% ABV)
  • Trophy Brewing Co. – Double Dry-Hopped IPA: “It’s no secret Trophy Brewing makes some of the best IPAs in the country. So after very little deliberation, we decided to brew the hoppiest beer Hi-Wire has ever created at 3.5 lbs per barrel. Starting with Simcoe and Centennial in the whirlpool before mid-fermentation and dry-hop additions of El Dorado and Simcoe, this hazy gold monstrosity screams of green mango, huge citrus, and piney resin with a slight sweetness on the finish. This one is for the truest of hop fiends.”  (7% ABV)

To complete this mixed 12-pack, Hi-Wire has also included three of its flagship brews: Hi-Pitch Mosaic IPA, Lo-Pitch Juicy IPA, and Hi-Wire Gose.  Each Mixed 12-pack will contain two 12 oz. bottles/cans of each of the six beers mentioned above.

According to Hi-Wire’s Release Calendar, the 2018 Collaboration Mixed 12-pack is slated for release on February 16 and will be around as long as supplies last.  You can expect to find this Limited Release mixed pack at select craft beer retailers located within Hi-Wire Brewing’s distribution footprint in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Ohio.  Prost!

 

Hi-Wire Brewing to Release 10W-40 Imperial Stout

HiWire_10W-40_HiRes-2-402x1030Hi-Wire Brewing (Asheville, North Carolina) has announced that it will officially begin the limited release of its coveted 10W-40 Imperial Stout on Friday, December 22.

Back for the second year in a row, 10W-40 is a full-bodied Imperial Stout that has been brewed with fresh cocoa nibs from Asheville’s French Broad Chocolates and then “rounded out by milk sugar and Madagascar vanilla beans.”  This decadent dessert beer is then finished with coffee from Dynamite Roasting Co. to “[accentuate] the cocoa and [add] slight roast to balance out the vanilla.”

10W-40 Imperial Stout will have availability in 4-packs of 16 oz. cans beginning on December 22.  This Specialty Series offering will see limited distribution to select craft beer establishments found within Hi-Wire Brewing’s distribution area that includes North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Ohio.  If you wish to get your hands on some 10W-40 Imperial Stout this holiday season, go ahead and mark those calendars now because this highly-anticipated release is sure to disappear just as soon as it hits shelves. Hi-Wire Brewing to Expand Distribution into Atlanta

Hi-Wire-BrewingHi-Wire Brewing (Asheville, North Carolina) has officially announced that it has signed with Georgia Crown Distributing Co. to expand its distribution network into the Atlanta, Northwest Georgia, and Southwest Georgia areas.

After testing the waters in smaller markets such as Athens, Augusta and Savannah, Hi-Wire Brewing has confidently decided to take a huge leap forward by launching their brand in Atlanta and the remainder of the state of Georgia.  To take full advantage of this opportunity, the brewery will enter the Atlanta market with its “entire portfolio,  including year-round, seasonal, specialty, and sour beers.

“The opportunity to roll out into a major metropolitan area like Atlanta doesn’t come along too often. Hi-Wire will certainly see an incredible boost in its overall sales, but I believe the increased exposure from having a larger and more targeted audience, is the bigger piece of the puzzle.”
