21st Amendment Brewery Enters Fall with Two New 15-Packs

21stBOIPA1521st Amendment Brewery (San Leandro, California) recently announced that they are supplying their fans with two new 15-packs this fall.

First up, fans of fruit-laced IPAs will be happy to hear that they now have the option to stock their fridges with Blood Orange Brew Free! or Die IPA in more convenient increments of 15 cans at time.  Brewed in similar fashion to the brewery’s flagship Brew Free! or Die IPA, this fruited variant mixes things up a bit with the addition of “an abundance of fresh blood orange puree and a twist of citrusy dry hops.”  After Blood Orange Brew Free! or Die IPA quickly achieved fan-favorite status when it was first released in 6-packs back in March, it became clear to the brewery that they needed to give this refreshing lil’ number the 15-pack treatment.

“While the packaging celebrates ‘Three More Reasons The Fruit Shall Set You Free,’ in my opinion being able to buy 15 of these beers at once is the real celebration here,” said Nico Freccia, Co-Founder of 21st Amendment Brewery. “We released six packs of this beer in March and the response has been overwhelming. Personally I wanted more of this beer and so did everyone else, and we took that feedback to heart.”

For those of you that require several options when it comes to satisfying your hop cravings, 21st Amendment has you covered in that department as well with the Seasonal release of their new IPA Variety Pack.  This mixed 15-pack includes the following five offerings (each 15-pack contains three 12 oz. cans of each offering):

“We’re pretty excited about this new package,” said Shaun O’Sullivan, Co-Founder and Brewmaster of 21st Amendment. “It’s an incredible sampler platter of IPAs. When you open the box and dive in you’ll find two Imperial IPAs, a classic West Coast IPA, Black IPA and a Session IPA. This is an IPA drinkers dream come true.”

Both 15-packs of 12 oz. cans mentioned above are rolling out now.  Blood Orange Brew Free! or Die IPA 15-packs are available year-round, and the IPA Variety Pack is a Seasonal offering that is available from October 2017 until March 2018.  These 15-packs can be found at craft beer retailers located in Florida, Georgia, California and throughout the rest of 21st Amendment Brewery’s distribution area.  Prost!

Heavy Seas Beer and MadTree Brewing Collaborate on Partner Ships Wee Heavy

37446856332_09db49a873_kHeavy Seas Beer (Baltimore, Maryland) announced this week that it will be closing out the 2017 edition of its Partner Ships Series with a Wee Heavy brewed in collaboration with MadTree Brewing Company (Cincinnati, Ohio).

Heavy Seas Beer recently hosted the folks from MadTree Brewing Company so that they could brew up the year’s final release in The Partner Ships Series, a lineup of limited releases from Heavy Seas that “features beers produced in collaboration with other regionally and nationally recognized brewers in the spirit of friendship, creativity, and adventure.”  After a little brainstorming, the two brew crews decided to take on the classic Wee Heavy style and liven it up with some local twists.  The recipe for their Wee Heavy begins with a malt bill comprised of “Golden Promise . . . a touch of Roasted Barley, . . . Simpson’s Double Roast Crystal and Weyermann Chocolate Rye to add a unique touch.”  After a subtle addition of East Kent Golding hops, tradition is eventually abandoned as the beer receives local flavors of “Burundi Mpanga coffee from Deeper Roots in Cincinnati, Ethiopian Harrar coffee from Chesapeake Bay Roasting Co. in Baltimore, and cocoa nibs from Maverick Chocolate in Cincinnati.”  This all results in a robust, 8.25% ABV Wee Heavy that is “deep mahogany in color with layers of malt, chocolate, and roasted complexity.”

Partner Ships Wee Heavy officially releases in November and will be available as long as supplies last.  You can expect to find this Limited Release available in 22 oz. bottles and on draft at select, craft beer-focused retailers, bars and restaurants located in Alabama, Florida, Maryland and throughout the rest of Heavy Seas Beer’s distribution network. Accumulation White IPA Returns as New Belgium’s Winter Seasonal

Accumulation_12_oz_bottleNew Belgium Brewing (Ft. Collins, Colorado) recently announced that they are once again welcoming winter with the Seasonal release of Accumulation White IPA.

Back for its fifth year as a part of New Belgium’s Seasonal lineup, Accumulation White IPA was created as a reminder to us all that we are not just limited to big ol’ Stouts and Barleywines during the winter months.  Drawing inspiration from Colorado’s white winters, this White India Pale Ale takes your mind from the cold by featuring “Mosaic and Amarillo hops, tropical aroma and soft citrus, mango and lemon flavors, followed by a bitter bite.”  With the “addition of wheat really [smoothing] out the rough bitter edge”, the 6.2% ABV Accumulation White IPA comes together as an offering more than capable of taking on anything winter can throw at it.

“Dark beers tend to dominate the winter months, but we like to buck the trend with an IPA that’s bright and refreshing,” said Bryan Simpson, public relations director for New Belgium. “The addition of wheat smooths out the bitter, hoppy flavors and provides a clean, crisp finish. Accumulation offers an ideal counterpunch to the cold winter months to come.”

Accumulation White IPA is available now and will be hanging around through January of 2018.  You can expect to find this Seasonal offering in 6-packs of 12 oz. bottles and on draft at craft beer establishments located in Alabama, Florida, Colorado, North Carolina, and throughout the rest of New Belgium’s distribution area.  Prost!

Stone Brewing Goes Nationwide with Vengeful Spirit IPA

vengefulspirit_canmockStone Brewing (Escondido, California) has officially announced that Stone Vengeful Spirit IPA, the brewery’s latest Seasonal release, is currently hitting shelves and taps across the country.

In keeping with the brewery’s recent trend of tropically-inspired IPAs, Stone Brewing has released Stone Vengeful Spirit IPA as a Fall Seasonal that “employs a bit of tropical mythology to pay homage to [their] ever present gargoyle.”  To properly represent this tribute in the liquid, the brewers at Stone developed an unfiltered India Pale Ale with an impressive hop bill (Herkules, Mosaic, Loral & Mandarina Bavaria hops) that is further supported by the addition of pineapple and Mandarin oranges.  This all results in a 7.3% ABV IPA that “explodes with the flavors of citrus candy and tiki-style cocktails.”

“This beer brings together a lot of what’s been new for Stone lately,” said Jeremy Moynier, Stone’s senior innovation brewing manager. “We included three hops most recently featured in our Stone Hop Revolver IPA series. We’ve really been digging the combination of pineapple and tangerine, similar to what we introduced with Stone Tangerine Express IPA. By experimenting with different add rates and much different hops, we’ve come up with a really unique flavor that’s juicy, citrusy and quite frankly, a little mind-blowing.”

Stone Vengeful Spirit IPA began a limited distribution roll out earlier this month, but it is now officially available from coast to coast as of September 29.  You can find this new Seasonal offering in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans and on draft at craft beer establishments located in Alabama, Florida, California, Virginia and throughout the rest of Stone Brewing’s nationwide distribution footprint.  Prost!

Table Beer Slated to be Creature Comforts Brewing’s Next Seasonal

CCBCTableBeerPourCreature Comforts Brewing Co. (Athens, Georgia) recently announced that it will release Table Beer in October as the brewery’s next Seasonal offering.

Previously released last fall under the name Epicurious (name changed due to “legal reasons”), the newly dubbed Table Beer returns with the same mission: to simply be “a beer that best complements drinking with food and friends.”  After consulting with “a number of the top chefs in Athens and Atlanta”, Creature Comforts first focused on making this offering “highly carbonated with an invigorating minerality to help cleanse the palate in between bites of food.”  To keep things “refreshing, versatile, and approachable”, the 4.2% ABV Table Beer then provides a flavor experience featuring an “earthy, floral and soft citrus hop character [that] is balanced by complex Belgian yeast flavors and subtle bitterness on the finish.”  Finally, the use of flaked oats and rustic grains rounds the whole thing off with “a nice grain flavor and firm mouthfeel.”

“The idea of a Table Beer is not new, and in fact it is practically the genesis for beer,” said Chris Herron – Co-founder and CEO of Creature Comforts Brewing Co. “Our goal was to design a beer that serves as a complement to food rather than a distraction – something unpretentious, that is meant to simply be enjoyed with friends around the dinner table.”

Table Beer will officially arrive in October and act as a Seasonal release.  You can expect to find this brew available in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans and on draft at craft beer-focused restaurants, retailers and bars located within Creature Comforts Brewing Co.’s distribution network in Athens and Atlanta, Georgia.  Prost!
