21st Amendment Brewery (San Francisco, California) has officially announced that it will introduce its SOMA Hard Seltzer brand with the release of four flavors in June 2020.
Meticulously crafted with “the same level of innovation as [21st Amendment’s] acclaimed beer portfolio,” SOMA Hard Seltzers – named after the brewery’s home in the South of Market (SoMA) neighborhood – are “clean, crisp, all-natural” seltzers that are “brewed using a natural fermentation process and unfiltered.” With launch flavors such as Watermelon, Guava & Passion Fruit, Mango and Black Cherry, this new line carries on the brewery’s long-standing infatuation with thirst-quenching fruits. All flavors of SOMA Hard Seltzer come in at just 4.6% ABV, 100 calories, 2 grams of carbs and 0 grams of sugar.
“SOMA Hard Seltzer is brewed with our craft roots in mind. We spent six months working to get the flavors and taste just right. Unlike other hard seltzers, 21st Amendment’s is made using a natural fermentation process giving it a cleaner flavor. SOMA Hard Seltzer is NOT made with grain neutral spirits, and then diluted with water. Many hard seltzers made that way have a metallic and artificial taste. SOMA Hard Seltzer is brewed with Virginia Dare natural flavors, a 90-year-old New York company making wonderful products for the beverage industry,” says Shaun O’Sullivan, Co-Founder and Brewmaster.
Nico Freccia (Co-Founder/CEO, 21st Amendment Brewery) adds, “SOMA Hard Seltzer is wonderful for the active on-the-go individual who is looking for a craft ‘better-for-you’ beverage. It does not fill you up with its 100 calories and 2 grams of carbs with zero sugar.”
All four launch flavors of SOMA Hard Seltzer are rolling out now and will be available Year-Round. You can expect to find these new offerings available in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans at craft-friendly establishments located in Florida, California and throughout the rest of 21st Amendment’s 30-state distribution area. Funky Buddha Brewery (Oakland Park, Florida) has officially announced that four flavors of Funky Buddha Hard Seltzer – Tropical Mango Guava, Lush Key Lime Cherry, Juicy Blood Orange and Crisp Pink Grapefruit – will begin hitting shelves in early April 2020.
Developed to give you a better option than those other hard seltzers out there that are “made from neutral grain spirits and preservatives,” Funky Buddha Hard Seltzer takes a more natural approach by being “brewed from cane sugar and blue agave for a crisp, clean taste.” Each easy-drinking natural flavor weighs in at just 4.5% ABV, and “90 Funkin’ calories, with 1g of carbs and 0g sugar.”
Funky Buddha Hard Seltzer will launch with the following four “bright and refreshing” flavors (descriptions sourced from the brewery’s press release):
- Tropical Mango Guava – As Miami as a pink and orange sunset, these two fruits were made to go together. We’re just doing as nature intended.
- Lush Key Lime Cherry – A killer combination of natural black cherry flavor with Florida’s best defense against scurvy, the Key lime.
- Juicy Blood Orange – Our all-natural Juicy Blood Orange is bursting with ripe, citrus and a hint of berry-like flavor without the added sweetness.
- Crisp Pink Grapefruit – This Crisp Pink Grapefruit Seltzer balances bracing citrus with a zesty finish that’s funkin’ refreshing.
All four flavors of Funky Buddha Hard Seltzer will be available in Variety 12-packs of 12 oz. cans (three cans of each flavor in each Variety Pack) beginning in early April 2020. You can expect to find these Variety Packs at craft beer-friendly retailers located within Funky Buddha’s distribution footprint in Florida. Prost!
Great Divide Brewing Company (Denver, Colorado) has officially announced that it will introduce Whitewater, a new lineup of Craft Hard Seltzers, in late March 2020.
Developed by Great Divide’s brewing team “after several taste panels and in-house ingredient mixology” sessions, Whitewater is a series of Hard Seltzers that is “brewed with all-natural ingredients, gluten-free with low carbs and zero sugar.” Aiming to “showcase real yet subtle flavor and be dry while slightly sweet,” Whitewater will launch with the following four flavors packaged in a Variety 12-Pack of 12 oz. cans:
“Whitewater will be crisp, refreshing and taste like real fruit,” explained Great Divide Founder and President, Brian Dunn. “We’re excited to meet the demand for seltzer with a product we’re proud to serve and drink.”
“One of the big things for how our seltzer and process stand out is the dedication to making a clean and crisp backbone,” explained Innovation Brewer, Tony Rau. “The timeline to dial in the production side of Whitewater, from fermentation through flavorings, was a meticulous process that our teams deliberated over. With it being such a neutral product like a pilsner, there is nothing to mask any unwanted flavors and no room for error. The end result speaks for itself: an incredibly clean and smooth beverage with potent, natural flavors shining.”
The Whitewater Craft Hard Seltzer Variety 12-pack of 12 oz. cans is rolling out now and 19.2 oz. cans of Whitewater Mango + Ginger will launch near the end of March 2020. You can expect to find these new Year-Round offerings available at craft beer and hard seltzer-friendly establishments located in Alabama, Florida, Colorado and throughout the rest of Great Divide’s distribution territory.
