TBBW 2019 Event: Angry Chair Brewing Super Rad Rare Beer Event & Bottle Release

angrychairlogo**This is an archived post covering Angry Chair’s 2019 Super Rad Rare Beer Event. If you are looking for information concerning the 2020 Super Rad Rare Beer Night and Bottle Release, click here.**

Angry Chair Brewing (Tampa, Florida) has officially announced that it will recognize Tampa Bay Beer Week 2019 by celebrating its annual Super Rad Rare Beer Event and Bottle Release off-site at The Orpheum on Thursday, March 7.

During last year’s Tampa Bay Beer Week, one thing was made incredibly clear: just about everyone who was in town for the event was motivated to get a hold of some Angry Chair Brewing at one point or another.  Day after day, hordes of beer fans descended upon the brewery at all hours for their week of bottle releases.  Although the folks at Angry Chair were pleasantly surprised by the turnout and stoked to receive such support, their neighbors were not so happy with the situation.  Since the brewery is pretty small, lacks parking and is located at the edge of a neighborhood, this influx of humanity led to numerous logistical issues that made life difficult for the people who call that area home.

In order to keep that from happening again during Tampa Bay Beer Week 2019, Angry Chair Brewing has decided to make this year’s bottle releases a part of its annual Super Rad Rare Beer Event and move the whole thing off-site to The Orpheum in Ybor City.  This decision was made to not only respect the wishes of their neighbors, but to also provide their patrons with a better experience.  Obviously, this means that there WILL NOT be any bottle releases at Angry Chair Brewing at ANY POINT during Tampa Bay Beer Week 2019.

Since this information will prove valuable to many, we are just going to breakdown all the details for the 2019 Super Rad Rare Beer Event and Bottle Release in effort to avoid any confusion.  Let’s get to it:

Angry Chair Brewing Extends Distribution Reach into Central Florida

angrychairlogoAngry Chair Brewing (Tampa, Florida) has officially partnered with Sunshine State Distributing so that it can immediately begin distribution in the following Central Florida counties: Orange, Osceola, Polk, Brevard, Lake, and Seminole.

A brewery that does not really require an introduction, Angry Chair Brewing is one of the most lauded, respected and sought-after brewers of decadent pastry stouts in the world.  After years of insanely long wait lines for bottle releases, a plethora of sold out events and countless high ratings on beer-related sites, Thrillist finally confirmed what all Tampa-based craft beer lovers already knew when they named Angry Chair Brewing “The Best Craft Brewery in Florida” in an article published in November 2018.  Distribution expansion is inevitable when it comes to a brewery as highly praised as this one, and it only seems fitting that Angry Chair is starting small and keeping it local by sending some love out to its neighbors in Central Florida.

“We are excited for the opportunity to partner with Angry Chair Brewing,” said Chris Larue, president and founder of Sunshine State Distributing. “Their beer will be a welcome addition to shelves and taps around Central Florida—we can’t wait to get it into the hands of craft beer lovers in the area.”

“We’re known for our stouts, but we have the flexibility to be creative and change up our beer. To have a distributor be okay with that and encourage it makes this partnership a no-brainer for us,” said Ryan Dowdle, co-founder of Angry Chair Brewing. “We’ve had a lot of requests for our beer in Central Florida and Orlando specifically. We’re excited to have that support and be able to send some beer their way.”

With Sunshine State Distributing handling all distribution responsibilities, Angry Chair Brewing will launch in its new Central Florida territory in late December with a “regular line-up” of offerings that includes “Nexus Sour IPA, Vodnik Czech Style Pils, Two Pump Chump Porter, and others. Additional rotating beers will be distributed throughout the year based on availability.”  You can expect to find Angry Chair Brewing offerings at select at craft beer-friendly bars, restaurants and retailers located throughout Orange, Osceola, Polk, Brevard, Lake, and Seminole counties.  Prost!

Angry Chair Brewing Sets Date for 4th Anniversary Party

AngryChairlogo2Angry Chair Brewing (Tampa, Florida) has officially announced that it will close its doors to the public on Saturday, December 8 so that it can celebrate its birthday with a ticketed 4 Year Anniversary Party that will take place in two sessions.

Another year has passed, and Angry Chair Brewing has come out the other side even stronger and more powerful.  The last 52 weeks have allowed the brewery’s spell to set further, enthralling craft beer fans in Tampa – and throughout the country/world – to the extent that they eagerly endure long lines and a lack of parking just for the chance to frenzy over the brewery’s latest, decadent treat.  This power is very real, intriguingly volatile and absolutely gravitational.

Realizing that this level of influence should be celebrated, Angry Chair will lure in 200 of its most dedicated supporters on December 8 so that they can all recognize the last four years of accomplishments by entering into a pact that can only be sealed in the darkest of pastry stouts.  Gaining entrance into the 4 Year Anniversary Party at Angry Chair Brewing will not be easy, but here is all the information that we can provide you so that you at least have a chance.

  • If you decide to drive, make sure that you follow the parking map and are respectful of the brewery’s neighbors (both business and residential).  Also, be aware of the fact that the brewery will need these parking spaces open for the second session as well, so please do not leave your car after the first session of the party.
