Double Branch Artisanal Ales (Wesley Chapel, Florida) has officially announced that 19.2 oz. cans of Vintage Band T and Hippie Kids Tripping on Acid, the first two Limited Releases in the brewery’s Smoothie Talker Series of Smoothie-style Sour Ales, are available now exclusively at the brewery.

Developed to give Tampa-area beer lovers all the Smoothie-style love they can handle, Double Branch’s Smoothie Talker Series is making its formal introductions with the following two highly limited offerings:

  • Vintage Band T – A Sour Ale juice bomb loaded down with blackberry, red raspberry & pomegranate. Only 245 cans available. ABV – 4.2%
  • Hippie Kids Tripping on Acid – For the folks out there with an insatiable sweet tooth, this Smoothie-style Sour is conditioned on blueberries, bananas, golden sandwich cookies, cream-filled golden sponge cakes & vanilla wafer cookies. Only 120 cans available. ABV – 4.6%

New Realm Brewing Goes Next Level with Release of Transcendental Experimental DIPA

New Realm Brewing Company (Atlanta, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Transcendental Experimental DIPA on Tuesday, August 4.

Brewed in collaboration with John I. Hass Hops as a celebration of “creative expression and the desire for more,” Transcendental Experimental DIPA is a Double IPA “dry-hopped exclusively with two experimental hop varieties from the avant-garde minds of The Hop Breeding Co. and from the visionaries at Brulotte Farms.” The selected hops hit the palate with “powerful stone fruit, berry, and delicately spicy notes” while also treating the nose to “aromatics . . . of tropical fruit, pineapple and coconut followed by citrus rind and peach.” Coming in at 8.6% ABV and 50 IBUs, Transcendental Experimental DIPA is a straight up “citrus bomb” that also possesses a “hint of dankness and a bit of vanilla creamsicle.”

“We’re pleased to work once again with our partners at John I. Haas Hops, who provided us with some really cool and exciting new hop varieties for this year’s version of Transcendental DIPA, including BRU-1, HBC586, and Sabro Incognito” said Mitch Steele, Brewmaster and Co-Founder of New Realm Brewing.

Transcendental Experimental DIPA will debut at New Realm’s Atlanta and Virginia Beach locations on August 4 and distribution will follow shortly after the on-site release. Three Taverns Brewery Continues Hop Leaf Project With Release of Amorist IPA

Three Taverns Craft Brewery (Decatur, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Can Release of Amorist IPA during the week of August 3, 2020.

Dropping as the latest experimental hop-forward ale to come out of the brewery’s Hop Leaf Project, Amorist is a Hazy/Juicy India Pale Ale double dry-hopped with “heavy additions of Strata and Rakau hops.” Coming in at 7.6% ABV, the “juice bomb” that is the Amorist can only be described as “a passion-soaked fruit orchard.”

Amorist debuted on draft at Three Taverns on July 24 and cans are scheduled to hit the brewery the week of August 3. This Limited Release offering will be available in 6- packs of 12 oz. cans as long as supplies last. Prost!

Hidden Springs Ale Works (Tampa, Florida) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Ask Alice on Tuesday, July 28.

Carefully concocted to send its drinker on a trip down the rabbit hole, Ask Alice is a Berliner Weisse-style Ale with “blueberry, lemon, honey, lavender and milk sugar magic” added. Clocking in at 5.5% ABV, Ask Alice is your fast pass ticket to Wonderland.

Ask Alice will debut at Hidden Springs Ale Works on July 28 and you can get your stash by ordering online for pick up, calling the brewery at 813-226-BREW to build a pick up order, or via an old fashioned walk-in (in a mask) to grab some to-go beers. Tampa Bay Brewing Company (Tampa, Florida) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Cryotropic Cryo Hazy IPA on Friday, July 24.

Finding the sweet spot where innovation and juicy haze collide, Cryotropic is a Hazy/Juicy India Pale Ale that utilizes “10lb per barrel of Citra Cryo hops and Amarillo hops.” The Cryo hops chosen for this beer are a new hop product that uses “cutting edge technology [to] put Citra hops through an intense, low-temperature process that separates and concentrates the lupulin in the hop cone.” This gives Cryotropic (7% ABV) “a super-cool 1-2 hop punch” that is guaranteed to “break the ice” this summer.

Creature Comforts Brewing Co. (Athens, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Can Release of Born Dreaming, a Hazy Double IPA brewed in collaboration with Highland Park Brewery (Los Angeles, California), on Friday, July 17.

Created by Creature Comforts out of curiosity and the eagerness to “learn more about [Highland Park’s] particular brewing style” and approach to Hazy IPAs, Born Dreaming (8% ABV) is Hazy/Juicy Double India Pale Ale featuring Strata, Citra (Cryo & Incognito) and Mosaic (Cryo & Incognito) hops. This marks the first time that Creature Comforts has worked with Incognito hops, “a 100% all-natural hop product crafted to deliver highly concentrated flavor while maximizing brewing efficiency and reducing process loss.”

3 Sons Brewing Company (Dania Beach, Florida) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Dania Fog, a Hazy Double IPA brewed in collaboration with Humble Sea Brewing Co. (Santa Cruz, California), on July 15.

Brewed as an “homage to the brewery that put Florida on the map” – Cigar City Brewing, Dania Fog is Hazy/Juicy Double India Pale Ale that has been double dry-hopped with Vic Secret, Mosaic and Citra hops. This hop bill provides the “full-bodied and fluffy” Dania Fog with “a dank tropical nose” alongside “tasting notes of mango, pineapple and equatorial citrus.” Coming in at 8.1% ABV, Dania Fog is “without a doubt . . . the HAZIEST DIPA [3 Sons Brewing Company has] ever made!!”
