Biscayne Bay Brewing Company (Miami, Florida) has officially announced that Buenas Noches, the brewery’s limited-edition Brandy Barrel-aged Imperial Stout, will be available at select Total Wine locations in Florida beginning the week of Monday, December 3.
Built from the same Imperial Stout base used in previous releases, this year’s Buenas Noches was aged for three months in small-batch grape brandy barrels. This treatment allowed the beer to pick up “a pleasant sherry character that complements the dark roasted attributes, chocolate notes and velvety mouthfeel presented by the base stout.” Weighing in at a warming 10.1% ABV, Buenas Noches is the “perfect night cap” to make any night a “Good Night”.
“We are very excited to be rolling out seasonal releases with Total Wine,” says Jose Mallea, President of Biscayne Bay Brewing Company. “They are a wonderful partner and have been a big supporter of our beers. We look forward to partnering for future special releases.”
The 2018 batch of Buenas Noches will officially release the week of December 3 and will hang around as long as supplies last. You can expect to find this Limited Release offering available in 22 oz. bottles at select Total Wine locations in Florida. Prost!

50 vintage and rare signed bottles from over two dozen breweries will auction online to raise funds for victims’ families and survivors of the tragic Parkland, FL shooting.
OAKLAND PARK, FL (April 5, 2018) – Following the horrific events at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida this past February, brewers from across the country are coming together to offer assistance and support to those affected most. Over two dozen brewers nationwide have donated rare and vintage bottles of beer — many of which are signed by owners, founders, and head brewers from companies such as Stone Brewing, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, and more — in what has become an epic and unique lot of craft beer for the ages.
This lot is being auctioned online via the We Are Stoneman Douglas site (https://one.bidpal.net/wearemsd, click “Auction Items” on menu) with proceeds benefiting the Broward Education Foundation’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas fund. One hundred percent of all funds generated by this project will directly benefit the families of victims, survivors, and those affected by this tragedy. A second lot of signed barrel-aged and vintage beers from Funky Buddha Brewery, and a private dinner for 30, will also be auctioned.
This online auction (with over 50 other incredible auction items) is being organized by the Parkland Golf & Country Club located in Parkland, FL with assistance from Funky Buddha Brewery in Oakland Park, Florida. Individuals can bid on the online auctions through Sunday, April 8th. Due to regulations, these bottle lots will be available for local pickup only.
“This has been an amazing show of support and solidarity from brewers around the country, most of whom signed on and contributed unbelievable beers within minutes,” says Ryan Sentz, co-founder of Funky Buddha Brewery and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School graduate. “Although this tragedy was horrific beyond words, we can take heart in the incredible response from the community and others that shows we have the strength and bravery to rise above it and make a true difference in people’s lives.”

Biscayne Bay Brewing Company (Miami, Florida) has announced that it has officially expanded its distribution area in Florida to reach down into Key West and extend all the way up the state’s east coast to Indian River County.
When it launched distribution of its beer in kegs in 2014, Biscayne Bay Brewing Company intended to stay hyper-focused on the bars, restaurants and hotels located throughout the Greater Miami community of South Florida. Once beer lovers were able to experience these delicious beverages around town, the brewery ran into an issue as it was bombarded with requests from all over “regarding where these tasty brews could be purchased.” In response to these requests that continued to pile up over time, the good people behind Biscayne Bay decided to adjust their approach by investing in equipment so that they could begin bottling some of their fan-favorite offerings. This move will now give “the brewery the chance to expand its product’s reach to other restaurants and hotels that do not have draft systems and to fans of Biscayne Bay Brewing all across South Florida.”
“From the day we began brewing in September 2014 we have been looking forward to this moment, when we can share our delicious hand-crafted beers with the entire South Florida Community via bottles. This is a big milestone for us, but we continue to push forward and innovate the process as well as seek opportunities to expand our operation so we can offer our beers to the entire state of Florida and beyond.”
– Jose Mallea, President of Biscayne Bay Brewing Company
Biscayne Bay will launch its expanded distribution with the following core offerings packaged in 6-packs of 12 oz. bottles (descriptions sourced from the brewery’s website):
- Kapitan’s Kolsch – Crisp and light bodied German style lager continues an easy drinking tradition.
- Miami Pale Ale – Brewed in the tradition of a European-style Pale Ale, the Scotch malt foundation lays the groundwork for its unique flavor and character. A heavy dry hopping lends aroma and flavor to this beer, but keeps the bitterness factor low.
- Siren’s Saison – Our combination of Pilsner, Pale and Wheat malts along with French hops and an authentic Belgian yeast creates a beer with a distinguished taste, a generous bitterness and a nice balance between body and bite. Unfiltered to keep its character intact.
These Biscayne Bay 6-packs are rolling out now and you will be able to find them at the brewery, different Publix locations from Indian River County to Key West, and at select Total Wine & Spirits, Safeway, Whole Foods and Milam’s Market locations in the Doral/Miami area. Prost!
