Heavy Seas Beer Continues Taproom Exclusive Joose Cannon Series with Release of Glacier Froot

Heavy Seas Beer (Baltimore, Maryland) has officially announced that it will begin the Taproom Exclusive Release of Joose Cannon: Glacier Froot, the fourth release in the brewery’s Joose Cannon Series, during the weekend of Friday, September 4.

Developed to be a sports-drink-inspired take on the brewery’s flagship Loose Cannon IPA, Joose Cannon: Glacier Froot is a Hazy/Juicy India Pale Ale dry-hopped with Citra, Mandarina Bavaria and Simcoe Cryo/Lupulin Powder and then infused with cherry and cranberry juice and strawberry purée. Coming in at 7.25% ABV, Glacier Froot “combines berry and citrus to create an IPA that will quench your thirst on the hottest of days—no electrolytes needed.”

“We’ve brewed our fourth version of Joose Cannon with the usual oats, wheat and a dose of lactose to provide a satisfying, hazy IPA,” says Heavy Seas Brewmaster, Chris Leonard. “This time we’ve dry-hopped it with Citra, Mandarina Bavaria, and Simcoe Cryo/Lupulin Powder to provide juicy aromas of lemon, orange, tangerine and pineapple.  Then, we went ahead and added cherry and cranberry Juice along with a strong helping of strawberry puree.  Citrus and berry flavors make for a most satisfying, quenching hazy IPA experience.”

Coronado Brewing Company (San Diego, California) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Gentle Giant on Friday, August 14.

Crafted to serve as a liquid celebration of Coronado Brewing Company’s 24th year of brewing in San Diego, Gentle Giant is a Triple Hazy New England-style India Pale Ale brewed with “a blend of Idaho Gem, Sabro, Cashmere, and Chinook hops that lend the beer a tropical, fruity hoppiness.” Weighing in at a substantial 10% ABV, Gentle Giant is “full-bodied, yet juicy with a slightly creamy mouthfeel.”

“I like brewing big IPA’s to celebrate our anniversary each year.” says Mark Thiesen, Head Brewer, Coronado Brewing Company. “The blend of hops we used was pretty unique and brought out really nice tropical, fruity, juiciness in a triple IPA. Back with a revamped recipe and a slightly tweaked name, Trois 2.0 is a Hazy/Juicy India Pale Ale that sources all of its pineapple and tropical fruit flavors from the selected hops and yeast strain (“No pineapples were harmed/used in the making of this awesome beer”). Coming in at 7.2% ABV, Trois 2.0 is “a sweet smelling, juicy, thick hazy hop bomb that transports you straight to paradise.”

New Realm Brewing Goes Next Level with Release of Transcendental Experimental DIPA

New Realm Brewing Company (Atlanta, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Transcendental Experimental DIPA on Tuesday, August 4.

Brewed in collaboration with John I. Hass Hops as a celebration of “creative expression and the desire for more,” Transcendental Experimental DIPA is a Double IPA “dry-hopped exclusively with two experimental hop varieties from the avant-garde minds of The Hop Breeding Co. and from the visionaries at Brulotte Farms.” The selected hops hit the palate with “powerful stone fruit, berry, and delicately spicy notes” while also treating the nose to “aromatics . . . of tropical fruit, pineapple and coconut followed by citrus rind and peach.” Coming in at 8.6% ABV and 50 IBUs, Transcendental Experimental DIPA is a straight up “citrus bomb” that also possesses a “hint of dankness and a bit of vanilla creamsicle.”

Three Taverns Craft Brewery (Decatur, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Can Release of Amorist IPA during the week of August 3, 2020.

Dropping as the latest experimental hop-forward ale to come out of the brewery’s Hop Leaf Project, Amorist is a Hazy/Juicy India Pale Ale double dry-hopped with “heavy additions of Strata and Rakau hops.” Coming in at 7.6% ABV, the “juice bomb” that is the Amorist can only be described as “a passion-soaked fruit orchard.”

Finding the sweet spot where innovation and juicy haze collide, Cryotropic is a Hazy/Juicy India Pale Ale that utilizes “10lb per barrel of Citra Cryo hops and Amarillo hops.” The Cryo hops chosen for this beer are a new hop product that uses “cutting edge technology [to] put Citra hops through an intense, low-temperature process that separates and concentrates the lupulin in the hop cone.” This gives Cryotropic (7% ABV) “a super-cool 1-2 hop punch” that is guaranteed to “break the ice” this summer.
