Orpheus Brewing Celebrates American Craft Beer Week with Release of City in the Trees

Orpheus Brewing (Atlanta, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Can Release of City in the Trees, a long boil Doppelbock, on Wednesday May 12.

Dropping as Orpheus Brewing’s first release for American Craft Beer Week 2021, City in the Trees is a Doppelbock “brewed with 100% Barke pilsner malt and boiled for 16 hours to develop richness and color before lagering for many months.” Coming in at 9% ABV, City in the Trees features “vibrant notes of toffee, burnt caramel, dark fruit, and leather lending this beer light sweetness mixed with a surge of bitterness.”

City in the Trees hit the taps at Orpheus Brewing on May 11 and 4-packs of 16 oz. cans will drop at the brewery on May 12 at 3 p.m. City in the Trees is a brewery only release and will not see distribution. Prost!

Orpheus Brewing (Atlanta, Georgia) has officially announced that it will launch its new Doughnut Revolution Series, a collaboration project with Atlanta’s Revolution Doughnuts & Coffee, in late December 2020 with the Limited Release of Chocolate Blackout Cake Stout.

Crafted to capture the full experience of Revolution’s Blackout Chocolate Cake Doughnut – a decadent treat “topped with dark chocolate glaze, chocolate crumbs, and finished with a chocolate drizzle,” Doughnut Revolution: Chocolate Blackout Cake Stout (10% ABV) is an Imperial Stout that features “an array of chocolate malts along with three dosings of cocoa.”

Orpheus Brewing (Atlanta, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Inertiatic Sour Ale in late June 2020.

Inertiatic is a Fruited Sour Ale that features additions of “dragon fruit and mango for a smooth bouquet of tropical fruit notes balanced by light tartness.” Coming in at refreshing 5.5% ABV, Inertiatic is “a balanced sour ale you can sip on all summer long.”

Inertiatic officially released in the Tasting Room at Orpheus Brewing on June 18 and is scheduled to enter distribution later this week. Orpheus Brewing Releases Room a Thousand Years Wide Barleywine

Orpheus Brewing (Atlanta, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Room a Thousand Years Wide, a Barrel-aged Barleywine, during the week of June 8.

Carefully crafted to be “frothy, smooth, and full of life,” Room a Thousand Years Wide is a blend of English-style Barleywines that have been aged one to two years in Bourbon and Rye Whiskey barrels. Coming in at a slow-sipping 13.5% ABV, Room a Thousand Years Wide is filled with “notes of malt candy, raisin, toast, Werther’s, spice, vanilla, leather, wood, and almost burnt cookies.”

Room a Thousand Years Wide is available now (as of June 8) in the Tasting Room at Orpheus Brewing and online via the brewery’s CraftCellr page. This Limited Release is available in 375ml bottles for as long as supplies last. Prost!

orpheuslogoOrpheus Brewing (Atlanta, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Ye Who Enter Here, a Barrel-aged Imperial Stout with chiles, coffee and vanilla beans, on Friday, May 22.

Dropping as the first of many beers that will release over the next six weeks to celebrate Year Six of Orpheus Brewing, Ye Who Enter Here is an Imperial Stout aged for two years in Heaven Hill Bourbon and Jack Daniels Rye Whiskey barrels with guajillo, puya, and de árbol chiles; Madagascan vanilla beans; and a complex blend of Nariño and Ixlama coffee beans from East Pole Coffee Co. that were added whole to the barrels.  Coming in at 13% ABV, this batch of Ye Who Enter Here promises to be “spicier than the first batch, but still more of a warm, building heat than an aggressive spiciness.”

Arriving as the final offering in a series (The Vanilla Chronicles, an exploration of the world’s many varietals of vanilla) within a series (Stouts All the Way Down, a special lineup of Imperial Stouts that experiments with different barrels and adjuncts), Stouts All the Way Down | The Vanilla Chronicles – Grand Cuvée is a Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrel-aged Imperial Stout that incorporates “Indonesian, Ugandan, Tongan, Mexican, and Madagascan vanilla beans . . . at a dosing rate 40% higher than any of the single vanilla varietals [Orpheus has] released [in The Vanilla Chronicles] so far.”  Weighing in at a sizable and decadent 12.5% ABV, this Grand Cuvée is best enjoyed “on your front porch, in your backyard, or wherever you imbibe other delicious quarantine treats!”

Returning once again to “give you everything you want,” Nothing Left To Give is an American Sour Ale “soured by house wild cultures and gorged with 2,000 lbs of raspberry.”  Coming in at 5.9% ABV, Nothing Left To Give is “rich with juicy, ripened berry with underlying notes of peach and citrus.”

“At peace with the silence, the screams taken in by a wall of tranquility while earthly desires lie naked and bare – the manic pulsations of noise and flesh in their unending thirst for more. Elusory IPA is double dry-hopped Hazy/Juicy India Pale Ale “loaded with juicy Mosaic hops and supported by citrusy, soft Azacca with a bold combination of Columbus and Comet.”  Coming in at 6.7% ABV, Elusory promises to be “a soft, pillowy IPA with layers of orange, melon, stone fruit, and dankness.”

Orpheus Brewing Brings the Heat with 2019 Release of The Ferryman

Here to make sure that 2019 closes on an extra spicy note, the latest version of The Ferryman is an Imperial Stout that includes additions of “ghost pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cocoa nibs.”  Coming in at 10% ABV, this year’s recipe for The Ferryman promises “a rich fudge experience with notes of baking spice and a fiery finish to warm you to the bone.”

Collaboratively cooked up at Brew Bus Brewing to commemorate Orpheus Brewing’s recent distribution expansion to Central Florida, Softly Shimmer is a Hazy India Pale Ale that brings together “pillowy mounds of Cashmere and Galaxy hops.” Best enjoyed fresh, Softly Shimmer (6.1% ABV) is “full of tropical fruit goodness” that is sure to “softly shimmer” in the Florida sun.

Softly Shimmer officially released in Brew Bus Brewing’s Tasting Room (4101 N Florida Ave | Tampa, Florida) on October 15 with availability in 4-packs of 16 oz. cans and on draft.  This Limited Release will only be available as long as supplies last.
