TrimTab Brewing (Birmingham, Alabama) has officially announced that it will continue its Gallery Series with the Limited Release of #030 West Coast IPA on Friday, November 20.

Created to take TrimTab’s Gallery Series on a “cruise to the West Coast,” #030 West Coast IPA is a ‘bright” West Coast-style India Pale Ale “packed with Chinook, Citra, El Dorado and Galaxy hops.” Coming in at 6.5% ABV, #030 West Coast IPA will send us down the nostalgic “hoppy trails” we have all been secretly longing to travel again.

#030 West Coast IPA will debut in the Tasting Gallery at TrimTab Brewing on November 20 and will enter distribution shortly after the on-site release. Blushing Monk Rejoins Founders Brewing Co.’s Limited Lineup

Founders Brewing Co. (Grand Rapids, Michigan) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Blushing Monk in December 2020.

An infrequent but fan-favorite release from Founders Brewing Co., Blushing Monk is a Belgian-style Strong Ale “brewed with a ridiculous amount of raspberries for tart yet luscious raspberry-jam character and fermented with Belgian yeast for subtle fruit and spice esters.” Incredibly easy-drinking for 9.2% ABV, Blushing Monk is “an intense and delicious example of a Founders fruit beer.”

“Some of us have been around Founders long enough to remember the first time we bottled Blushing Monk back in the early 2000s,” said Brewmaster, Jeremy Kosmicki. “I remember it vividly because it was all hand packaged on a two-headed counter pressure filler and it took several days of around-the-clock action to get it done. These days, things are a bit more streamlined, but I still feel nostalgic whenever we decide to brew this huge raspberry ale.”

Blushing Monk is scheduled to return in early December 2020 and will stick around through March 2021. The Holidays Officially Begin with Return of Tröegs Mad Elf Ale

Tröegs Independent Brewing (Hershey, Pennsylvania) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of its iconic Mad Elf Ale in November 2020.

An idea/recipe conceived in 2002 by Tröegs‘ founding brothers Chris and John that has since gone on to become a holiday staple in the craft beer community, Mad Elf is a Belgian-style Strong Ale brewed with five varieties of cherries (Bing, Lambert, Van, and Royal Ann) and 25,000 lbs. of Pennsylvania honey. Coming in at 11% ABV, Mad Elf is a “cheerful ruby red creation reminiscent of ripened cherries, raw honey and cocoa with notes of cinnamon, clove and allspice.”

“For many beer drinkers, the holidays don’t truly start until they’ve had their first Mad Elf,” said Tröegs founding brother and brewmaster John Trogner. “We think Tröegs has a place on every holiday table.”

Originally conceived as a “flagship beer recipe of 21st Amendment’s San Francisco brewpub that’s evolved into an annual limited-edition winter warmer favorite” that is enjoying its 10th Anniversary release in 2020, Fireside Chat is an English-style Strong Ale brewed with eight different malts, infused with “lush and flavorful cocoa nibs from TCHO Chocolate,” and “well-balanced” with a carefully selected blend of spices. Coming in at a warming 7.9% ABV, Fireside Chat “cozies up close to the burning embers with aromas of chocolate malt, spices, and cocoa nibs filling the air.”

Urban South Brewery (New Orleans, Louisiana) has officially announced that it will launch Throwback Vibes West Coast IPA as its new Winter Seasonal in November 2020.

Developed to shake things up after a summer filled with New England-style IPAs and fruited beers from Urban South, Throwback Vibes is the brewery’s take on a West Coast-style India Pale Ale that has been “brewed with Galaxy, Citra and Simcoe hops to tone down bitterness and amplify softness.” Coming in at 6% ABV and 45 IBUs, Throwback Vibes features an “approachable hop bitterness and sweet malt character [which makes it] a great choice for the cooler winter months.”

“Our palates are always changing here at the brewery, and while we love our softer, juicy IPAs, we wanted to create something with a more assertive hop character,” says Alex Flores, Head Brewer at Urban South Brewery. “We decided to put our spin on a traditional West Coast IPA by toning down the bitterness to produce more of a rounded, approachable sip. We joke that it’s ‘Westish Coastish’ – not quite all the way West, but definitely heading West!”
