Sure to be one of the more highly sought-after bottles released during Tampa Bay Beer Week 2020, Double Barrel Fluffer Nutter Black Aggie is a double barrel-aged Imperial Stout that has embraced the unholy alliance that is peanut butter and marshmallow.  Weighing in at a sinister 13% ABV, Double Barrel Fluffer Nutter Black Aggie will have you succumbing to the darkness in no time.

The Double Barrel Fluffer Nutter Black Aggie bottle release will take place at Hidden Springs Ale Works (1631 N. Franklin St. | Tampa, Florida) at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 12. Bottles will be $30 each and the brewery will announce the bottle limit 15 minutes before opening. Cash is preferred, but cards will be accepted.

A few things to keep in mind if you plan to attend this bottle release:

  • Double Barrel Fluffer Nutter Black Aggie will be available on draft when the Tasting Room at Hidden Springs opens at 11 a.m.
  • Since this bottle release will coincide with an Omnipollo Tap Takeover at Hidden Springs on the same day, “Omnipollo’s magical goods will [also] be available at 11 a.m. until they are gone”

Creature Comforts Brewing Co. Set for Limited Release of ‘Well, I Declare’ Imperial Stout

Crafted to “showcase the beautiful pecan crop from Pearson Farm,” Well, I Declare is an Imperial Stout made with toasted pecans, cocoa nibs from Condor Chocolates, and American oak spirals.  Meant to be sipped and savored, Well, I Declare comes in at a comforting 12% ABV.

Well, I Declare will officially release in the Tasting Room at Creature Comforts Brewing Co. on March 14. Creature Comforts Brewing Co. Schedules Double Bottle Release of Good Migrations & River Ridge Black

creaturecomfortslogo_editedCreature Comforts Brewing Co. (Athens, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin a Limited Bottle Release for two offerings from its Wood Cellar and Mixed Fermentation program – Good Migrations and River Ridge Black – on Saturday, February 15.

A special collaboration project inspired by Indian Ladder Farms Cidery & Brewery’s farming initiative, Good Migrations (5.9% ABV) is a Saison brewed with barley, hops, blueberries, and raspberries that were “all estate-grown by Indian Ladder in Altamont, New York.”  To round out the recipe and add a “little flavor local to Athens,” the breweries also “used DaySpring Farms wheat, local honey, and Creature Comforts’ house culture to create a lightly fruited and delicious Saison.”

Crafted to highlight “Creature Comforts’ local agriculture initiative,” River Ridge Black is a Dark Ale “aged in French oak for over a year with [the brewery’s] house-mixed culture” and then “conditioned on top of organic black raspberries” sourced from a southeastern farm, River Ridge OrganicsRiver Ridge Black comes in at 8% ABV.

Good Migrations and River Ridge Black will both release in the Tasting Room at Creature Comforts Brewing Co. on February 15.  Good Migrations will be available for purchase on draft and in 750ml bottles while River Ridge Black will be available on draft and in 500ml bottles.  Both of these offerings are brewery-only releases and are not expected to see distribution. Back to “take you on a journey into the depths of your deepest, darkest, most pastry sweet nightmares,” In Between Dreams is a Barrel-aged Imperial Stout with chocolate and hazelnut. Coming in at 12% ABV, In Between Dreams is guaranteed to make a lasting impression that will keep you up at night.

The bottle release for In Between Dreams will take place at Hidden Springs Ale Works (1631 N. Franklin St. | Tampa, Florida) at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 8. 22 oz. bottles of In Between Dreams will cost $30 each and the brewery will announce the bottle limit 15 minutes prior to opening. The 2020 Anniversary Party at Proof Brewing Co. is a free-to-attend, pay-as-you-go event that is open to the public.  The brewery is selling an Anniversary Passport in its online store for $15 (click here to purchase, quantities are limited) and that gets you a commemorative taster glass (pictured below) and three 5 oz. fills of any beer on the menu.  The Anniversary Passport is not required, but it is highly recommended that you purchase one if you wish to get your hands on the commemorative glassware.

Cahaba Brewing Co. Set for Limited Release of Bow & Arrow Brut IPA

Arriving as Cahaba’s “Valentine’s gift to you,” Bow & Arrow is a Brut-style India Pale Ale that has been “freshly dry-hopped” with Citra and Mosaic hops and “lightly aged in French oak white wine barrels.”  Embodying the art of “Craft with Passion,” Bow & Arrow promises to offer an experience that is “dry, crisp and truly harmonized.”

Bow & Arrow Brut India Pale Ale will debut in the Taproom at Cahaba Brewing Company on January 31 and is scheduled to enter limited distribution on February 7.  The Bow & Arrow release consists of just 200 22 oz. bottles and a limited number of kegs.  Prost!

After successfully combining its annual Tampa Bay Beer Week event and series of bottle releases and moving it all off-site to the Orpheum in 2019, the crew at Angry Chair Brewing has decided to take the same approach to its annual Super Rad Rare Beer Night in 2020.  This, of course, means that there will be absolutely no bottle releases at Angry Chair Brewing during Tampa Bay Beer Week 2020 and your only chance to secure these highly coveted bottles is by attending Super Rad Beer Night.

Since this event has a lot of moving parts and information behind it, we feel it is best to just breakdown all the details for Super Rad Rare Beer Night 2020 in order to make sure everyone is on the same page. Let’s get at it:

VIP Tickets will be available via raffle for the cost $550 each (+ tax).  VIP ticket cost gets you everything included with General Admission plus admittance into the event 20 minutes early and a second set of bottles.  This is how the raffle will work:

To enter the VIP RAFFLE – While purchasing your ticket you will provide your name, email, and phone number, as well as your desired session. There will be an optional checkbox that will enter you into the VIP raffle. We will draw names randomly, 30 per session, and contact the winners. If you are contacted, you will have 24 hours to pay the additional $225 to bump your ticket up. Once 24 hours pass, anyone who has not paid will forfeit their VIP selection and we will draw additional names. (You will have already purchased the GA ticket, so you will not lose your chance to attend, just the additional perks).  **THE RAFFLE IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO IN-PERSON PURCHASERS AT THE TASTING ROOM.**

In-person ticket sales will take place at Angry Chair Brewing beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, January 11.  There will be 200 General Admission tickets per session (which will include 30 VIP tickets per session) available for in-person purchase. Tickets are limited to ONE per person and you can only attend one session.  Plus ones WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE.

Your ID will be required at the time of purchase.  You will be issued a physical ticket.  The name on the ID will be added to the list and your ticket will match the name on that list.  This means that YOU must show up with YOUR ticket.  Tickets are NON-TRANSFERABLE.

All ticket holders will have access to unlimited pours of the following tasty treats while at Super Rad Rare Beer Night:

  • French Toast Barrel Royale | Quadruple Barrel-aged Imperial Porter with Lactose, Cinnamon, Vanilla Beans & Maple
  • Double Barrel Vanilla Dave’s Barleywine | Double Barrel-aged English-style Barleywine with Vanilla
  • Barrel-aged Multilayered | Imperial Sweet Stout with Cacao, Caramel, Coffee & Lactose brewed in collaboration with Edmund’s Oast Brewing Co., Westbrook Brewing Co. & Evil Twin Brewing 
  • Double Barrel Rocky Road | Double Barrel-aged Imperial Sweet Stout with Walnuts, Cacao Nibs & Marshmallows 
  • Barrel-aged Imperial German Chocolate Cupcake Stout | Bourbon Barrel-aged Sweet Stout with Cacao, Vanilla Beans & Coconut
  • Yet-to-be-named “Special Stout” brewed in collaboration with Forager Brewery 
  •  Vodnik Czech-style Pilsner

Other Useful Information

  • Make sure that you have your ID with you when you attend the Super Rad Rare Beer Night.  If you do not bring your ID, your name cannot be verified against the list.  If you cannot be verified, you cannot attend.
  • Things that will not be permitted at the event: bottles, coolers, chairs, children & pets
  • Angry Chair recommends that you arrive to The Orpheum at least ONE HOUR before your ticketed session that way you can get checked in in an orderly and speedy fashion
  • You will receive a wristband upon entry.  DO NOT remove this wristband.  Not only will it prove that you belong at the event and grant you access to the beer being poured, it is also your only link to your bottles and schwag. When you leave, the Angry Chair crew will cut your band and then hand over your bottles, bottle bag and glass.  No wristband = NO BEER, NO BOTTLES, NO NOTHIN’.
  • Once you leave the event, please leave the area and do not linger outside of The Orpheum.
  • Unfortunately, there will be no food available at the venue during the event.  Angry Chair suggests that you check out one (or more) of Ybor’s amazing restaurants, bars or breweries before and/or after the event to handle all your grubbin’ needs.
  • The beers at this event will be massive, so please plan accordingly.  Arrange for a designated driver to pick you up or secure an Uber/Lyft/taxi to get you home safely.
  • Once again . . . There WILL NOT be any bottle releases at Angry Chair Brewing at ANY POINT during Tampa Bay Beer Week 2020.

It is well known that Super Rad Rare Beer Night 2020 is a can’t-miss Tampa Bay Beer Week event and tickets are guaranteed to sell out with a quickness.
