Lagunitas Brewing Company (Petaluma, California) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of StereoHopic Vol. 2, an IPA featuring Elixir and Loral hops, in late May 2021.

Dropping as the second release in Lagunitas Brewing Company’s StereoHopic Series that “channels their 25+ year hop love affair into a spotlight on two special varietals at a time–and the interestingness that happens between,” StereoHopic Vol. 2 is a West Coast-style India Pale Ale that “showcases the magical marriage of the elusive Alsatian Elixir hop and Yakima’s floral Loral hop blending together in one beer that is more than the sum of its parts.” Coming in at 7.2% ABV and 65 IBUs, StereoHopic Vol. 2 offers “blueberry-honey-floral aromas leading to palate-walloping flavors of extreme resinousness, grippiness, and grapefruit pithiness.”

StereoHopic Vol. 2 is rolling out now and will be available for a limited time in 6-packs of 12 oz. bottles and on draft. 21st Amendment Brewery (San Francisco, California) has officially announced that Tropical Brew Free! or Die IPA will join the brewery’s Year-Round lineup in July 2021.

Developed to be the “‘summery’ companion of [21st Amendment’s] iconic west coast Brew Free! or Die IPA and Blood Orange Brew Free! or Die IPA,” Tropical Brew Free! or Die IPA is a West Coast-style India Pale Ale that boasts “mega-juicy kettle hops and a harmonious blend of Idaho 7, El Dorado, Azacca, Mosaic, Amarillo, and Calypso dry hops.” Coming in at 6.8% ABV, Tropical Brew Free! or Die IPA captures “an island vacation” in each sip.

Orpheus Brewing Celebrates American Craft Beer Week with Release of City in the Trees

Orpheus Brewing (Atlanta, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Can Release of City in the Trees, a long boil Doppelbock, on Wednesday May 12.

Dropping as Orpheus Brewing’s first release for American Craft Beer Week 2021, City in the Trees is a Doppelbock “brewed with 100% Barke pilsner malt and boiled for 16 hours to develop richness and color before lagering for many months.” Coming in at 9% ABV, City in the Trees features “vibrant notes of toffee, burnt caramel, dark fruit, and leather lending this beer light sweetness mixed with a surge of bitterness.”

Ninkasi Brewing Adds Stratascope IPA to Seasonal Lineup

Ninkasi Brewing Company (Eugene, Oregon) has officially announced that Stratascope IPA has arrived to serve as the brewery’s new Spring/Summer 2021 Seasonal Release.

Originally developed on Ninkasi’s “innovative small-batch system in February 2020 and then scaled up to production levels for this release,” Stratascope IPA is an American India Pale Ale that “strongly features the Strata hop.” Coming in at 6.4% ABV and 49 IBUs, Stratascope IPA allows “Strata’s hop character of stone fruits like apricot and peach [to] dance with passionfruit and grapefruit atop a light dank platform to create a powerful geometry that’s ready to dazzle from within.”

“Our pilot brewing system has allowed us to innovate in new ways,” said Director of Brewing Operations Dr. Daniel Sharp. “It’s fun to experiment with these new hops to create some delicious new beers with the complex aroma and flavor profiles they emit.”
