Great Divide Brewing Co. Unveils 2020 Release Calendar

Coffee-Porter-LabelA new year means plenty of new beer, and this week we are here to provide you with a look at the 2020 Release Calendar from Great Divide Brewing Company (Denver, Colorado).

As is the case with most beer release calendars around these parts, we have posted Great Divide’s full 2020 Release Calendar below for you to sift through at your own leisure. With that said, there are a few exciting new releases and changes that we would like to point out real quick.  Let’s get to it:

  • Previously only available as a part of the brewery’s Tank Farm Series of limited releases, Strawberry Rhubarb Sour will be promoted to Year-Round status in April of 2020.
  • Car Camper, a Hazy Pale Ale spotlighting Sabro hops, will also join Great Divide’s Year-Round lineup in April. Car Camper will have availability in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans and on draft.
  • The Tank Farm Series will see the addition of Coffee Porter, a special collaboration project with Denver’s Pablo’s Coffee.  Here is how Matt Sandy, Marketing Manager at Great Divide, describes this new brew:
“I am particularly excited about our collaboration with Pablo’s Coffee.  Though it sounds simple on the surface, this is one of the more multifaceted beers we’ve brewed. Whiskey barrels that once held Barrel Aged Yeti Imperial Stout were filled with green coffee beans and aged to perfection. The beans were then roasted, ground and given back to us to brew this Coffee Porter. We’ll be releasing the beer in February and some of remaining the barrel aged beans will be available at Pablo’s locations.”
  • The Wood Werks Barrel Series will transition to 16 oz. cans this year and the 2020 lineup will include the following three new offerings: Wood Werks Old Fashioned (March), Wood Werks Golden Sour with Fruit (June), and Wood Werks Double Barrel Belgian (September).
  • 2020 will see four variants of the brewery’s beloved Yeti Imperial Stout: Chocolate Cherry Yeti (February – April), S’mores Yeti (May – July), Pumpkin Yeti **NEW** (August – October), and a yet-to-be-named new Yeti variant (November – December).
  • Finally, Great Divide will get into the alcoholic sparkling water game in 2020 with the introduction of Whitewater Hard Seltzer. The brewery will release a variety 12-pack with four flavors in the spring.

“Whitewater will be crisp, refreshing and taste like real fruit,” explained Great Divide founder and president, Brian Dunn. “We’re excited to meet the demand for seltzer with a product we’re proud to serve and drink.”

Those are just a few of the highlights, but there are still quite a few new releases and returning fan-favorites left for you to discover on the calendar below.  Check it out and get ready for another exciting year with Great Divide Brewing Company in 2020. Prost!

Created as an attempt to tame the beast that is Great Divide’s Yeti Imperial Stout, Barrel Aged Yeti (12.5 % ABV) is a “unique version” of that beloved Imperial Stout that has been “aged for at least 12 months in whiskey barrels.”  This extended period of hibernation in the barrels “produces a hugely complex but mellowed Yeti, with its signature roasted flavors, hints of vanilla and oak, and a whiskeyed finish.”

Great Divide Brewing Co. Adds S’mores Yeti & Mexican Chocolate Yeti to Yeti Clan

Mexican-Chocolate-Yeti_BeerImage_3-e1568224864970Great Divide Brewing Company (Denver, Colorado) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Releases of S’mores Yeti and Mexican Chocolate Yeti in October 2019.

Arriving as the latest variants of Great Divide’s iconic Yeti Imperial Stout, S’more Yeti and Mexican Chocolate Yeti are here to offer Stout lovers a “sumptuous sensory experience” this fall.  To get you further acquainted with these elusive beasts, here are their official descriptions (sourced directly from the brewery’s website):

  • S’mores Yeti | 9.5% ABV – Reach for S’mores Yeti and find yourself transported to a cozy campfire setting without ever leaving the comfort of your home; though enjoying this decadent treat fireside is definitely encouraged. Enjoy all the tastes of the classic campsite dessert blended with the rich, roasty malt flavor of Yeti Imperial Stout. A beer for telling tales and creating new ones.
  • Mexican Chocolate Yeti | 9.5% ABV – A very special, and very limited, entry in our venerable Yeti Series, Mexican Chocolate Yeti is a sensory delight. We’ve added a variety of spices, vanilla and coffee to Yeti Imperial Stout to create our version of a traditional champurrado drink. Spiced chocolate drinks have been part of Aztec and Mayan cuisine and culture for centuries, but they have yet to be paired with a Yeti!

“S’mores was a bit of a no-brainer and a Yeti flavor that would crop up often in our brainstorming sessions. Mexican Chocolate Yeti has been a draft-only taproom favorite since we released it in small batches two years ago. We decided it warranted a wider though still limited release.”

– Matt Sandy, Marketing Manager at Great Divide Brewing Company

S’more Yeti and Mexican Chocolate Yeti will both launch in October with availability in 19.2 oz. cans and on draft.  S’mores Yeti is scheduled to hang around through December 2019 while Mexican Chocolate Yeti will only be available as long as supplies last.  You can expect to find both of these Limited Releases at select craft beer-friendly establishments located in Alabama, Florida, Colorado and throughout the rest of Great Divide’s distribution area.  Prost!

Great Divide Brewing Reveals 2018 Release Calendar

GDBClogoGreat Divide Brewing Co. (Denver, Colorado) just added some intrigue to the year ahead with the publication of a 2018 Release Calendar that brings news of seven new beers.

Another day means another beer calendar, and we have Great Divide Brewing Co.’s full 2018 Release Calendar available below.  You can jump straight to it, or bear with us while we quickly highlight those seven new brews.  It’s totally your call . . .

  • 2018 will see the introduction of Great Divide’s Wood Werks series, a new lineup of limited-edition barrel-aged and sour beers. The series will launch in February with Belgian-style Sour, a “Belgian-style tripel that was artfully soured for 15 months in red wine barrels and aged on plums.”  Belgian-style Sour will be followed by Flemish Sour Brown with Strawberries in May, and Barrel Aged Brown Rye Ale in August.
  • Car Camper Gose will roll out in April as the brewery’s new Summer Seasonal.  This refreshing little number is a German-style Sour brewed with guava & passionfruit.
  • Vanilla Oak Aged Yeti will arrive in May as the newest addition to the Yeti Clan.  This oak-aged Imperial Stout has “sweet vanilla tones [that] meld into the oak characteristics . . .  A pairing fit for a beast, the vanilla and oak are uplifted by the bold and roasty character we all know and love from [Yeti Imperial Stout].”
  • Back by popular demand, Rumble Oak Aged IPA will return as a part of the Tank Farm series in 2018.  It will be available in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans and on draft from May through September.
  • Beginning in May, Great Divide will add Heyday Modern IPA to its Year-Round portfolio.  “What’s a Modern IPA you ask? Well, [Great Divide] brewed this beer in response to the shift in taste profile preferences of the modern IPA drinker. It’s slightly hazy (but not a hazy IPA) with abundant hop flavor and aroma of tropical fruit, berry, and melon. This contemporary IPA brings the multifaceted hop profile to the forefront without the expected bitterness and with a lighter body. It’s not “New England” or “hazy” or “west coast” or “English-style”, or “classic”, and it’s definitely not [Titan India Pale Ale]. It’s a modern IPA. Balanced and approachable, Heyday IPA is brewed for the modern Bold Character.”

That covers the new offerings, but there is still plenty to see on the calendar below.  Give it a good look so that you can be properly prepared for the Great Divide awesomeness headed your way in 2018.  Prost!
