Wild Leap Brew Co. Continues Limited DIPA Series With Release of Alpha Abstraction Vol. 16

Wild Leap Brew Co. (LaGrange, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Alpha Abstraction – Vol. 16 in early March 2021.

The latest release in Wild Leap’s experimental Double IPA Series that “explores hop varieties and features a varied hop profile in each volume,” Alpha Abstraction – Vol. 16 is Hazy/Juicy Double India Pale Ale double dry-hopped with the “elusive” Hopsteiner EXP 06300 hops. Coming in at 8% ABV, Alpha Abstraction – Vol. 16 “[delivers] passion fruit and tropical flavors with hints of orange and creamy caramel.”

“There are many experimental hop varieties that come and go every year from hop producers, but unlike the experimental hops we’ve used for the Alpha Series in the past, the Hopsteiner EXP 06300 is on its way out of the market,” says Elliott. “Due to the low yields it produced, the hop producer is no longer allocating acreage for this variety. This is unfortunate because it instantly became one of our favorite hops. It’s full of clean and balanced tropical and caramel notes, so enjoy it while it lasts!”

Alpha Abstraction – Vol. 16 officially released on March 1 and will be available only as long as supplies last. You can expect to find this Limited Release available in 12 oz. cans and on draft at select craft beer-focused establishments located within Wild Leap’s distribution footprint in Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina. New Realm Brewing Company adds beLOW Hazy IPA to Year-Round Lineup

New Realm Brewing Company (Atlanta, Georgia) has officially announced that beLOW Hazy IPA, the brewery’s first low-carb and Hazy IPA, will join its Year-Round lineup in March 2021.

Developed to capture the “lighter side of IPA” at New Realm Brewing Company, beLOW is a sessionable Hazy/Juicy India Pale Ale “anchored by one of the company’s favorite hop combinations and a meticulously engineered brewing process.” Coming in at just 4% ABV, 20 IBUs, 99 calories and 4.2g of carbs, the “light, crisp and refreshing” beLOW “is the perfect balance of bright citrusy notes, drinkability and low-carb profile.”

“This beer is something special”, said Bob Powers, Co-Founder and Chief Sales & Marketing Officer of New Realm Brewing. “It’s citrusy, refreshing, and has the hop character that IPA lovers crave, with less than half the calories. beLOW was brewed with high-quality, all-natural ingredients and doesn’t make a consumer compromise taste, quality, or their healthy, active lifestyle like some beers.”

“We created beLOW with some of my favorite hop varieties which lend a light, citrusy flavor profile that impresses the palate. The process of brewing a low-carb, low-calorie beer is very unique and challenging. In most beers there is a residual sweetness in the final product, and carbs come with that rich sweetness. With beLOW, we use exogenous enzymes to break down the complex sugars in the wort which leaves the beer with a drier finish and significantly less carbs than your standard IPA, without sacrificing any flavor,” said Brewmaster and Co-Founder Mitch Steele.

beLOW Hazy IPA will debut on March 2 with availability in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans and on draft. You can expect to find this new Year-Round offering at select craft beer-focused establishments located within New Realm’s distribution footprint in Georgia and Virginia. Prost!

Creature Comforts Brewing Co. Adds Tritonia & Cosmik Debris to Year-Round Lineup

Creature Comforts Brewing Co. (Athens, Georgia) has officially announced that Tritonia Gose and Cosmik Debris Double IPA will join the brewery’s Year-Round portfolio in March 2021.

Previously only available as a part of Creature Comforts’ Seasonal lineup, the brewery is now going Year-Round with these two fan-favorite brews (descriptions sourced directly from the brewery’s press release):

  • Tritonia – A 4.5% ABV gently tart Fruited Gose brewed with cucumber, lime, sea salt, coriander, and our house blend of lactobacillus. Our take on this classic German-style wheat beer pairs the cool freshness of cucumber with the crisp tartness of lime to create an incredibly refreshing experience.
  • Cosmik Debris – An intensely hopped 8.0% ABV Double IPA featuring Simcoe, Strata, Mosaic, Cascade, and Chinook hops. This Double IPA presents a mind-blowing aroma of citrus zest, melon, and subtle pine. The big, fruity aroma, firm bitterness, and lighter malt character paves the way to a soft and balanced flavor profile.

“Our purpose is to foster human connection, and one of the ways we strive to cultivate those opportunities for connection is by offering a wide variety of year-round beer styles,” said CEO Chris Herron. “Tritonia and Cosmik Debris have become seasonal fan favorites over the last seven years, and we are excited to add them to our year-round lineup.”

Tritonia and Cosmik Debris will both officially return in early March 2021 with availability in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans and on draft. You can expect to find these two new Year-Rounds at craft beer-focused establishments located within Creature Comforts Brewing Co.’s distribution footprint in Georgia. Prost!

Terrapin Beer Co. Revives Its Classic Rye Pale Ale

Terrapin Beer Co. (Athens, Georgia) has officially announced that it will be bringing its fan-favorite Rye Pale Ale back for a limited time beginning in March 2021.

Rye Pale Ale has a long history at Terrapin Beer Co. It was the brewery’s original offering in 2002 and quickly went on to win a gold medal in the Pale Ale Category at the Great American Beer Festival that year. This classic had a good run as Terrapin’s flagship until 2018 when the difficult decision was made to discontinue Rye Pale Ale to make room for other styles that were gaining popularity. Still, this legend was longed for by the Terrapin faithful and it went on to earn over 10,000 total votes in a social media contest Terrapin launched last March to allow “fans . . . the opportunity to vote to bring any one of the brewery’s classics back to the line-up for 2021.”

If you are unfamiliar with this legendary brew, Rye Pale Ale is an American Pale Ale/Rye Beer “dry-hopped with Amarillo hops and brewed with malted Rye for a distinct aroma and a remarkably clean finish that is sure to be in tune with your taste.” Rye Pale Ale comes in at 5.5% ABV.

“For me, re-releasing the Rye Pale Ale brings up a flood of memories and emotions. When we launched this brand back in 2002, John and I had no idea how this beer would change the landscape of brewing and beer drinking in the state of Georgia. For some craft beer drinkers, the Rye was the first craft beer they had ever tried.”

– Spike Buckowski, Co-founder and VP of Brewing Development

Rye Pale Ale will officially return on March 1 but fans local to the brewery will have a chance to get it early when it is made available for curbside pick up on Wednesday, February 24. The iconic Rye Pale Ale will be available for a limited time in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans and on draft at select craft beer-friendly establishments located in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and throughout the rest of Terrapin’s distribution footprint. Three Weavers Brewing Company Begins Seasonal Release of It’s Blursday Rosé Sour

Three Weavers Brewing Company (Inglewood, California) has officially announced that it will begin the Seasonal Release of It’s Blursday Rosé Sour in late February 2021.

Crafted to recognize that “blursday is the norm” these days, It’s Blursday is a Rosé-inspired Sour Ale that combines “a lacto souring technique with additions of cranberry, tart cherry, raspberry and passion fruit for their color and tart flavor properties.” Coming in at 5.5% ABV, It’s Blursday proves that there is “nothing better than [a] tart, fizzy, rosé-inspired beer to enjoy all blursday long.”

“The healthy additions of fruit purees during fermentation give the beer its deep pink color. Raspberry is a common flavor descriptor of rosé wines, and it builds upon the ester content of the beer. Then we dose in passion fruit because in small amounts, it provides thiol compounds that translate into tropical characters found in wines – and in our beer.

“It bridges the gap between beer and wine, and truly illustrates where two beverages, often perceived as opposites, are maybe not so different after all. A lot of thought went into the development of It’s Blursday to execute a wine-forward beer without using any grapes.”

– Alexandra Nowell, Brewmaster at Three Weavers Brewing Company

It’s Blursday is rolling out now and will be available as long as supplies last this spring. You can expect to find this Seasonal offering available in 4-packs of 16 oz. cans and on draft at Three Weavers’ Inglewood taproom and select craft beer-focused establishments located in California. Prost!
