Reformation Brewery Launches Self-Titled Reformation IPA

Reformation Brewery (Atlanta, Georgia) has officially announced that Reformation IPA will join the brewery’s Year-Round lineup in late February/early March 2022.

Here to replace the brewery’s Rotating Seasonal IPA – Nolan the Wanderer, Reformation IPA is an unfiltered American India Pale Ale featuring Talus, Citra and Mosaic hops. Coming in at 6.5% ABV, Reformation IPA is loaded with grapefruit and pineapple notes.

“We fell in love with the Talus hop, which gives this beer an intense citrus aroma and ripe notes of grapefruit and pineapple. We also love the little bit of pine resin that balances out all those fruit forward notes. As we searched for this hop, we built a great relationship with the people at Hop Head Farms (in Southwest Michigan) who supply our contract of this unique and robust hop,” said Ryan Morley-Stockton, Business Operations Director.

“Reformation has wandered through new styles of IPA’s and different varieties of hops with our rotating IPA series, and learned so much from that journey. We’ve also brewed countless IPA test batches at our R&D facility in Woodstock in search of a liquid that is both balanced and timeless – yet uniquely Reformation. Reformation IPA is fueled by feedback from our community and is a beer they can truly call their own,” Stockton added.

Reformation IPA is rolling out now with availability in 12 oz. cans and on draft. You can expect to find this new Year-Round at all Reformation Brewery locations and at craft beer-focused establishments located throughout Georgia. Prost!

Firestone Walker Aims to Perfect the West Coast with Introduction of Hopnosis IPA

Firestone Walker Brewing Company (Paso Robles, California) has officially announced that it will launch Hopnosis IPA as a new Year-Round offering in late February 2022.

The long-awaited result of Firestone Walker’s “15-year quest to master the West Coast IPA style,” Hopnosis is a West Coast-style India Pale Ale featuring “hops from New Zealand and the Pacific Northwest, with a focus on Mosaic Cryo Hops® as well as Idaho 7 and Nelson.” Coming in at 6.7% ABV, Hopnosis rocks “an excellent balance of flavor and texture” which includes loads of “hop-derived flavors of mango, passionfruit, white grape and lychee.”

“Hopnosis represents everything we’ve learned about hopping techniques over the years, all rolled into one beer,” said Brewmaster Matt Brynildson. “This is our ultimate new-school expression of the West Coast IPA.”

“This is where the West Coast style is headed,” Brynildson said. “Aromatic hops and new hopping techniques are driving the future. On top of that, Cryo Hops® are opening up fresh possibilities. Now you can get all of the ‘oomph’ of hop saturation that you want from a West Coast IPA, but with less of that classic bitterness, more of these new-age hop flavors, and a whole new level of balance and drinkability.”

Hopnosis is rolling out now and will be available Year-Round in 6-packs and 12-packs of 12 oz. cans, 19.2 oz. cans and on draft. You can expect to see this new West Coast IPA at craft beer-friendly establishments located in California and throughout the rest of Firestone Walker’s distribution network. Prost!

Rogue Ales adds Gumberoo West Coast IPA to Year-Round Portfolio

Rogue Ales (Newport, Oregon) has officially announced that it will launch Gumberoo West Coast IPA as a new Year-Round offering in February 2022.

The latest offering to join Batsquatch and Colossal Claude in Rogue’s Monsters of IPA Series, Gumberoo is a West Coast-style India Pale Ale that has “a subtle hop aroma with piney hop flavors up front that give way to a light tropical fruit body.” Coming in at 6.8% ABV and 66 IBUs, Gumberoo has a finish that rocks “a nice blend of malts, fruit and pine with a lingering bitterness.”

“The story of the Gumberoo is a fascinating one that we can all learn from,” says Hagen Moore, VP of Marketing and Creative. “As the story goes, three loggers were camped in the woods drinking beers and entertaining the idea of illegally harvesting old growth sequoias for extra cash when the ground suddenly shook with a heavy footstep. Bigger than a bear with wild eyes and jagged teeth, the Gumberoo rose from behind a stump with a mighty roar. As the loggers scrambled to escape, beer spilled onto the fire causing smoke to fill the air. Some say the forest only wanted to send them a warning that night as this stroke of smokey fortune helped hold off the Gumberoo while the loggers got away. So remember to respect our forests, put out your fires and always bring cold beer camping.”

Gumberoo is rolling out now and will be available Year-Round in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans and on draft. You can expect to find this new offering at craft beer-focused establishments located in Alabama, Florida, Oregon and throughout the rest of Rogue’s distribution network. Prost!

The Bruery Expands Ruekeller Lager Series with Release of Dunkel

The Bruery (Orange County, California) has officially announced that it will begin the Seasonal Release Ruekeller: Dunkel in February 2022.

Built on “old-world brewing techniques in the likeness of the traditional name,” Ruekeller: Dunkel is a Bavarian-style Dunkel Lager “crafted . . . with the finest of ingredients, the utmost of care, and years of experience in brewing extraordinary craft lagers.” Coming in at 6.2% ABV, Ruekeller: Dunkel is “lightly sweet with notes of mild caramel, chocolate, and a satisfying nuttiness.”

“Ruekeller: Dunkel is brewed with the traditional method of krausening. At the end of fermentation we throw in about 10% new beer to clean it up and make it extra crisp and refreshing, this also helps us avoid any undesirable flavors. The method also produces carbonation without the need to use sugars or other adjuncts. This beer was a labor of love; we say ‘hard to brew, easy to drink’. Dunkel turned out incredible, with a lot of bready character and a touch of roasty and chocolatey notes; I’m going to be drinking this in my backyard all Spring.”

– Stefan Weber, Production Manager for The Bruery

Ruekeller: Dunkel is rolling out now and will be available throughout Spring 2022. You can expect to find this new Seasonal offering available in 4-packs of 16 oz. cans and on draft at select craft beer-focused establishments located in California, Washington D.C. and throughout the rest of The Bruery’s 29-state distribution territory. Prost!

Release – Seasonal/Ruekeller Series; launching late February 2022
Style – Bavarian-style Dunkel Lager

Fun Fact – “The name Ruekeller is a play on words, paying homage to both the traditional krausen method of brewing fine lagers, and The Bruery’s namesake, Patrick Rue. In German, ‘ruh’ literally translates to ‘quiet’ or ‘peace,’ while in brewing, the Ruhkeller, or ‘Rest Cellar,’ is where the beer is krausened.”
