Monday Night Brewing Adds Lundi IPA to Year-Round Lineup

Monday Night Brewing (Atlanta, Georgia) has announced that Lundi IPA will officially launch in late August as the brewery’s newest Year-Round offering.

Developed after “months of test batches, hop experiments, and sensory panels,” Lundi is an American India Pale Ale that features “all the tangerine and grapefruit notes of Mosaic, Simcoe and El Dorado hops.” Balanced with a “juicy . . . pleasant sweetness, thanks to the malt backbone of Pilsner, oats, and wheat,” Lundi IPA (7.1% ABV, 55 IBUs) is full-flavored “but with less of the bitterness commonly associated with bold IPAs,”

“We strive to create beers that go well with weeknights—balanced, flavorful ales that pair well with food. Our brewers nailed that with Lundi,” said Monday Night Co-Founder Jonathan Baker. “The versatility of this beer means it pairs well with a charcuterie plate, a savory tortière, or chicken paillard. And it especially works with good conversation and great friends.”

As for the name? “We got into a fun, funky, French vibe in the planning, testing, and tasting stages. Since Lundi is French for Monday, we leaned into it and went full Francophile,” said Baker.

Lundi IPA is rolling out now and will be available Year-Round. You can expect to find this new IPA available in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans and on draft at craft beer-friendly establishments located within Monday Night’s distribution footprint in Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee. Prost!

Motorworks Brewing Looks Toward Fall with Limited Release of Oktoberfest

Motorworks Brewing (Bradenton, Florida) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of its Oktoberfest Märzen-style Lager on Wednesday, August 21.

Serving as Motorworks Brewing’s “homage to the more robust Märzen lagerbiers served in Munich during Oktoberfests past,” Oktoberfest is a “bright amber” Märzen-style Lager that possesses “a lightly toasted, malty sweetness complemented by a spicy hop character that balances its malt base and dries it out a bit on the finish.” Oktoberfest clocks in at a fest-appropriate 5.6% ABV.

The 2019 release of Oktoberfest Märzen-style Lager will officially launch in Motorworks Brewing’s Taproom (1014 9th Street West | Bradenton, Florida) on August 21 and distribution is anticipated to follow shortly after the on-site release. A true embodiment of Spoetzl Brewery’s Bavarian roots, Shiner Oktoberfest is a traditional Märzen-style Ale brewed with the “highest-quality Two-Row Barley, Munich, and Caramel malts, along with German grown Hallertau Tradition and Hersbrucker hops.” Coming in at 4.48% ABV and 18 IBUs, Shiner Oktoberfest boasts “a rich malty aroma, with a caramel sweetness that fades to a dry, hoppy finish.”

Wild Leap Brew Co. (LaGrange, Georgia) has officially announced that it will introduce beer and music lovers to the limited-edition Rockweave Double IPA during the week of August 19.

Brewed to commemorate the Rockweave Music & Arts Festival taking place in LaGrange, Georgia October 4 – 5, 2019 (more information available below), Rockweave is a Double India Pale Ale brewed with Centennial hops. Despite weighing in at a sizable 8.1% ABV, Rockweave Double IPA remains an approachable brew that offers its drinker a “beautiful flavor profile of grapefruit and pine.”

“We have dreamed of being part of a music festival since the day we opened,” shares Rob Goldstein, Wild Leap Co-Founder and CMO. “With the main stage located just behind the brewery, we felt it was only appropriate to brew a beer in honor of the occasion, one that could be easily identified with the festival.”

Jester King Brewery To Release Tasting Room Exclusive Provenance Black Lime

Jester King Brewery (Austin, Texas) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Provenance Black Lime on Thursday, August 22.

Arriving as the next installment in Jester King’s citrus-themed series, Provenance Black Lime (5.6% ABV) is a Farmhouse Ale that incorporates black limes in the boil of “a similar [base beer] to previous Provenance iterations.” This approach produces a beer that is “deeper in color, with more caramel notes and more body” than past Provenance releases.

“We took limes from G&S Orchards and sliced them into ¼ inch disks, then dehydrated those disks at 140 degrees Fahrenheit for 7-10 days. The process is a slow caramelization of the sugars within the fruit as well as enzymatic oxidation of the flesh. This process definitely changes the flavor to something still reminiscent of the original fruit but has a distinct caramel quality, elevated acidity, and tea-like character.”

Provenance Black Lime will release exclusively in the Tasting Room & Kitchen at Jester King Brewery at 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 22. SweetWater Brewing Company (Atlanta, Georgia) has announced that it will officially begin the Seasonal Release of 420 Strain Chocolope Stout during the week of August 19.

Developed to mimic the flavor characteristics of the marijuana strain of the same name, Chocolope is an American Stout that unites a “roasty malt backbone” with SweetWater’s “unholy trinity of hops, strain-specific terpenes and natural hemp-type flavors.” Weighing in at 6.4% and 35 IBUs, Chocolope Stout offers its drinker “tropical fruit on the inhale, coffee on the exhale, gooey chocolate all the way through.”

Created to be the official Sour Ale of Birmingham’s Sidewalk Film Festival, Cinematic Sour is a Berliner Weisse featuring “a hint of pink guava and a punch of passion fruit.” Brewed for ultimate approachability and refreshment, the “delicately pale orange” Cinematic Sour (4.1% ABV) is “moderately tart without being over the top.”

Released each year at the start of college football season “[to pay] tribute to [the brewery’s] hometown team,” Warpath is an Imperial India Pale Ale brewed “with over six pounds of hops per barrel” (hop bill: Mosaic, Cryo Azacca, El Dorado, and Citra hops).
