Orpheus Brewing Releases Room a Thousand Years Wide Barleywine

Orpheus Brewing (Atlanta, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Room a Thousand Years Wide, a Barrel-aged Barleywine, during the week of June 8.

Carefully crafted to be “frothy, smooth, and full of life,” Room a Thousand Years Wide is a blend of English-style Barleywines that have been aged one to two years in Bourbon and Rye Whiskey barrels. Coming in at a slow-sipping 13.5% ABV, Room a Thousand Years Wide is filled with “notes of malt candy, raisin, toast, Werther’s, spice, vanilla, leather, wood, and almost burnt cookies.”

Room a Thousand Years Wide is available now (as of June 8) in the Tasting Room at Orpheus Brewing and online via the brewery’s CraftCellr page. This Limited Release is available in 375ml bottles for as long as supplies last. Prost!

Hidden Springs Ale Works Launches New Imperial Stout Series with Release of The Hermit

Hidden Springs Ale Works (Tampa, Florida) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of The Hermit on Thursday, June 11.

Dropping as the first “delicious beast” in a new Imperial Stout Series from Hidden Springs, The Hermit is a non-barrel-aged Imperial Stout “overflowing with pecans, chocolate and caramel.” Oh so “thiccc + rich,” The Hermit is sure to conjure up fond memories of decadent turtle candies.

Bottles of The Hermit will release exclusively on the Hidden Springs Ale Works website at 4 p.m. on June 11. Here are the full details and rules surrounding this release (as posted on the brewery’s social media accounts):

  • 22 oz. bottles of The Hermit are $25 each
  • Bottle limit is set at 2 per person (if you order more than the allotment, your purchase will be REFUNDED and CANCELLED)
  • Bottles will be ready for pickup during regular business hours (stay tuned because those are changing) Friday 6/12 – Friday 6/19. You will have to choose a pickup date and time at checkout. Your order will be ready that day ONLY. If you need to reschedule your pickup, please EMAIL the brewery at info@hiddenspringsaleworks.com (Hidden Springs is NOT able to reschedule your pickup from the DM’s).
  • For the safety of the community and to maintain social distancing standards established by the CDC, the brewery will be allowing PROXIES for this release. It helps to cut down the amount of bodies coming in and out of the Tasting Room at a single time. Yes. PROXIES ARE A GO!
  • To pickup your bottles you must have the correct name, order number, and ID (gotta make sure you’re old enough), also, make sure it’s the right day, y’all.

Once again, The Hermit will be sold exclusively online. There will be no walk-up sales or distribution. With that in mind, make sure that you are at your computer/phone/tablet at 4 p.m. on June 11 for the chance to land your bottles of The Hermit before they sell out. Prost!

Creature Comforts Builds on the Hop Experience with Limited Release of Crescendo Hazy IPA

Creature Comforts Brewing Co. (Athens, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Crescendo Hazy IPA on Friday, June 5.

Meant to hit you with a continuously rising wave of hop flavor, Crescendo is a Hazy/Juicy India Pale Ale featuring a hop bill comprised of El Dorado, Galaxy, and Callista hops that is “well-balanced with pilsner malt, oat malt, flaked oats, and chit malt.” In order to live up to its name, “the hop rates used during the brewing process increase over time, finishing with a heaping five pound per barrel dry hop that offers a bursting aroma.” Coming in at 7.2% ABV, the “flavorful and easy-drinking” Crescendo boasts “notes of pineapple, honeydew, and citrus.”

Crescendo will officially release in the Tasting Room at Creature Comforts Brewing Co. on June 5, but you can go ahead and pre-order your 4-packs of 16 oz. cans on CraftCellr now. There is no word at this time as to whether or not Crescendo will see distribution. Prost!

Tampa Bay Brewing Company (Tampa, Florida) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Imperial Blueberry Cheesecake in the Face on Friday, June 5.

Carefully crafted to be “on par with a slice of New York Style cheesecake,” Imperial Blueberry Cheesecake in the Face is an Imperial Berliner Weisse “packed full of fresh blueberries and lactose that balance the tartness of this pastry sour.” Clocking in at 8% ABV, Imperial Blueberry Cheesecake in the Face features “a nice, creamy mouth-feel” that frames the beer’s “lip-smacking, decadent flavors” beautifully.

TrimTab Brewing (Birmingham, Alabama) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Mosaic Singularity Double Dry-hopped IPA on Friday, May 29.

A returning favorite from TrimTab Brewing’s Light Visions Collection of small-batch Hazy and New England-style IPAs, Mosaic Singularity is a Hazy/Juicy India Pale Ale double dry-hopped with 100% Mosaic hops. This wildly popular hop varietal lends Mosaic Singularity “Blueberry and Berry Medley aromas” alongside more subtle tones of “mango, stone fruit, rosy or floral, tropical and citrus as well as earthy, herbal and pine.”

Mosaic Singularity will hit the Tasting Gallery at TrimTab Brewing at noon on May 29 and distribution is expected to follow shortly after the on-site release. Wild Leap Brew Co. (LaGrange, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of the highly anticipated twelfth volume in its Alpha Abstraction Double IPA Series in late May 2020.

Declared to be the “juiciest” release yet in Wild Leap’s wildly popular Alpha Abstraction Series, Alpha Abstraction – Vol. 12 is a Hazy/Juicy Double India Pale Ale double dry-hopped with Belma hops. Coming in at 8% ABV, Alpha Abstraction – Vol. 12 “boasts a bright citrus flavor with notes of strawberry and melon.”

“Our goal for the Alpha series was to create a beer that tastes as close to fruit juice as possible using only water, malt, hops and barley,” says Wild Leap Chief Brewing Officer, Chris Elliott. “We first experimented with Belma hops in pilot batches and the results were phenomenal. Crafted to give hopheads “double the refreshing slice of hop paradise” in a long-awaited Small Batch release, DDH Citra Slice is a double dry-hopped India Pale Ale loaded down with “double the amount of premium, hand-selected Yakima Valley Hops” found in Community Beer Company’s fan-favorite Year-Round – Citra Slice IPA. This upgrade makes DDH Citra Slice IPA “ultra citrus-forward, featuring flavors and aromas of orange peel, tangerine, and lemon zest.”

Known to be Burial Beer Co.’s “favorite” IPA, The Savages of Ruminating Minds (7.2% ABV) is a Hazy/Juicy India Pale Ale double dry-hopped with Mosaic, Motueka, and Idaho 7 hops. This juicy hop bill provides a sensory experience filled with “zip locks of blueberry kush, fresh pressed key lime and crushed orange dum dum.”

The Savages of Ruminating Minds – available in 4-packs of 16 oz. cans – will hit Burial Beer Co.’s online shop at noon on May 27 for presale for pick up and delivery at the brewery’s Asheville and Raleigh locations. DEEP Brewing Company (Tallahassee, Florida) has officially announced that it will begin the Annual Bottle Release of Calypso ’85, a Barrel-aged Cuban coffee-inspired Imperial Stout, on Monday, May 25.

Rising from the DEEP just in time for Memorial Day, Calypso ’85 is an Imperial Stout that has been “lurking in Four Roses Bourbon barrels for 14 months before being racked atop mountains of fresh Lucky Goat Coffee Co. Columbian Midnight Express [coffee beans] and infused with Lucky 7 Espresso and milk sugar.” Weighing in at an eye-opening 12.3% ABV, Calypso ’85 will give you that Cuban coffee pick-me-up any time of day.

A limited amount of 500ml bottles of Calypso ’85 will release in DEEP Brewing Company‘s online store at 7 a.m. on May 25 (those who land bottles online can then swing by the brewery for curbside pick up between noon and 7 p.m.). Monday Night Brewing Readies the Hop Hut for Two New Limited Release IPAs

Knowing that hoppy beers always pair beautifully with long weekends, Monday Night Brewing is hitting Memorial Day weekend with the following two juicy brews straight out of the Hop Hut (descriptions sourced directly from the brewery’s Facebook page):

  • Ooh La La | Milkshake New England IPA – Piña​ Colada for the win. We get those classic Caribbean flavors thanks to the addition of fresh pineapple, toasted coconut, and vanilla. Fancy glass, paper umbrella and getting caught in the rain not included.  ABV – 8%  IBUs – 30
  • Be Easy Citra | 2X New England IPA – A 3-way Citra New England IPA, using all forms of this versatile hop (Citra, Citra Cryo and Citra Lupulin) to make a juicy, hazy, citrusy mélange of flavors.  ABV – 8.5%  IBUs – 50
