Cigar City Brewing (Tampa, Florida) has officially announced that it is adding the CCB Mixed 12-Pack, a variety pack that will act as the exclusive packaging format for cans of Space Pope IPA, to its portfolio of Year-Round offerings in January 2019.
Jai Alai IPA – A 7.5% ABV American IPA dry-hopped with Simcoe hops and currently the second-best selling craft six-pack can nationwide.
Guayabera Citra Pale Ale – Cigar City Brewing’s second best-selling brand, brings a lower-alcohol yet hop-forward offering to the CCB Mixed 12-pack, clocking in at 5.5% ABV.
Florida Cracker – A crisp Belgian-style White Ale of 5.5% ABV brewed with coriander and orange peel, is a refreshing wheat beer addition.
Space Pope IPA – A bright, citrusy IPA of 7.3% ABV that’s loaded with Mosaic, Citra, Hallertauer Blanc and (what else?) Galaxy hops to highlight notes of candied orange and tangerine.
Although kegs of Space Pope IPA will see “sporadic distribution” throughout 2019, 12 oz. cans of this new Year-Round offering will be available exclusively in the CCB Mixed 12-Pack.
The CCB Mixed 12-Pack will begin rolling out in select markets in January and is scheduled to enter full distribution by mid-2019. Once fully introduced, you can expect to find The CCB Mixed 12-pack available Year-Round at “the finest grocery stores, package stores, liquor stores and independent craft beer shops” located in Florida, Alabama and throughout the rest of Cigar City Brewing’s distribution area. Prost!
Cigar City Brewing (Tampa, Florida) has announced that White Oak Jai Alai has officially returned for a limited time as a Special Release.
Released occasionally as a unique riff on Cigar City Brewing’s iconic Jai Alai IPA, White Oak Jai Alai takes that flagship India Pale Ale and hits it with an “addition of white oak spirals to impart sleek notes of vanilla, coconut and a touch of dill to Jai Alai’s bold citrus and caramel character.” The oak adds further complexity by tempering “the bitterness in the 70 IBU base beer while oak tannins elegantly dry the beer’s body to create a unique drinking experience that still remains true to Jai Alai’s unique qualities.”
White Oak Jai Alai officially hit the Cigar City Brewing Tasting Room on December 27 and is scheduled to roll out “throughout most of [the brewery’s] distribution network in the coming weeks.” You can expect to find this Special Release available in 4-packs of 12 oz. cans and on draft at craft beer-friendly establishments in Florida and other select territories located within Cigar City Brewing’s distribution area. Prost!
Vital Information for White Oak Jai Alai from Cigar City Brewing
The CANarchy Mixed Pack – VOL. 1 marks the first time that the CANarchy Craft Brewery Collective – a group of craft breweries who have come together to stay independent – has represented four CANarchy breweries in one box. The first in what is sure to be a rotating series of 12-pack compilations, CANarchy Mixed Pack – VOL. 1 contains the following “assortment of CANarchist brews” (descriptions sourced from press release):
Jai Alai IPA by Cigar City Brewing is the top-selling craft six-pack in U.S. grocery. A citrusy, 7.5% ABV brew featuring six different hop varietals and a rich malt character, Jai Alai has a knock-out score of 99 on Ratebeer.
Perrin Black Ale by Perrin Brewing Company is a counter-intuitive beer that pours dark as night but drinks like a summer afternoon. Full on flavor and light in mouthfeel, Perrin Black Ale is approachable at 5.8% ABV.
The CANarchy Mixed Pack – VOL. 1 contains three (3) 12 oz. cans of each beer listed above. This new mixed 12-pack will begin hitting craft beer shelves in North Carolina and Florida on September 1 and wider distribution is expected “soon”. Prost!
Cigar City Brewing (Tampa, Florida) recently announced that it will soon be hitting shelves with a refreshed look for all of its packaging along with a newly introduced 12-pack of Jai Alai IPA.
After revealing a new logo back in mid-November, Cigar City Brewing is continuing their change in aesthetics by redesigning the look of their full line of packaged offerings. Each can’s new design incorporates “hidden elements that speak to Florida history and culture” while still maintaining a look that “[resonates] well in the markets outside of Florida.” Soon to be applied to all packaging, these changes will be seen in the immediate future on Jai Alai IPA, Invasion Tropical Pale Ale, Florida Cracker Belgian-style White Ale, Maduro Brown Ale, and Tampa-style Lager (all pictured below).
“By refreshing, we were not looking to reinvent the wheel but instead optimize it and make it work more efficiently. We had a lot of successful elements in the previous designs but lacked overall harmony, our creative goal was to make these new designs feel like a natural evolution of their predecessor, for a look that definitively screams Cigar City Brewing.”
– Tiffany Cox, Creative Manager at Cigar City Brewing
This change also brings with it the good news that fan-favorite Jai Alai IPA has finally found its way into 12-packs of 12 oz. cans. These new 12-packs are available now in Cigar City’sTasting Room and will be “launching in all markets in the immediate future.”
In this case, it is probably best to let photos of the new packaging speak for themselves from this point. Be sure to check them out that way you know what to look for the next time you are in search of your favorite beer from Cigar City Brewing. Prost!
