Yoshimi Rainbow Sherbet Sour Arrives as Latest Limited Release from Reformation Brewery

reformationlogoReformation Brewery (Atlanta, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Yoshimi – a Rainbow Sherbet Sour Ale – on Friday, July 19.

Named after an iconic Flaming Lips album and inspired by the “the nostalgia of rainbow sherbet and [Reformation’s] Brewmaster’s flights to Japan”, Yoshimi is a “fruited kettle sour that contains milk sugar & swirls of raspberry, pineapple, & orange.” Clocking in at 5% ABV, Yoshimi is here to hit your summer with a sweet and sour kick.

“We snuck in a few early sherbet sour prototypes from our Workshop, and they took off,” said Spencer Nix, CEO and Co-founder of Reformation Brewery. “We’re always reforming, and having this space to explore timeless and inspired recipes really gives us a chance to hear what our community wants from us. It’s a great space to craft our future alongside the beers we know and love.”

Hidden Springs Ale Works Set for Bottle Release of After Dinner Decadence S’mores Stout

HSAWEquilibriumHidden Springs Ale Works (Tampa, Florida) has officially announced that it will host a bottle release for After Dinner Decadence, a Barrel-aged Imperial S’mores Stout brewed in collaboration with Equilibrium Brewery (Middletown, New York), at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 20.

Concocted by equally mad representatives from Hidden Springs and Equilibrium Brewery to take white rabbit chasing Pastry Stout lovers on “a psychedelic trip down the collab hole”, After Dinner Decadence is a Barrel-aged Imperial S’mores Stout with marshmallow, chocolate, graham crackers, coffee and cherry.  Although it has the ability to wear both the “Eat Me” and “Drink Me” instructions, After Dinner Decadence “will make you feel 10 feet tall.”

The bottle release for After Dinner Decadence will take place at Hidden Springs Ale Works (1631 N. Franklin St. | Tampa, Florida) at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 20.  Bottles will cost $30 each and the brewery will announce the bottle limit 15 minutes before opening. Cash is preferred, but cards will be accepted.

A couple things to keep in mind if you plan to attend this bottle release:

  • Parking is available up and down Franklin St., on Henderson just west of Tampa, and on 7th Ave.  There are also paid lots located across the street from the brewery and under the I-275 overpass
  • Once you are in line, make sure that you hug the wall near the door on Henderson so that foot traffic will not be affected on the sidewalks
  • Above all, please be respectful of the brewery’s neighbors

After Dinner Decadence will not see distribution and is all but guaranteed to experience a quick sellout.  If you wish to feed your head with this tasty treat, just make sure that you are in line by the final head count.  Prost!

Ithaca Beer Co. Adds Aunt Lupey DIPA to its Big Hoppy Family

Here to bring some of that auntie charm to Ithaca’s Big Hoppy Family of Limited Release Double India Pale Ales, Aunt Lupey is a “double dry hopped flavor bomb packed with deep tropical and citrus notes.”  Coming in 7.5% ABV, this “slightly hazy sweetheart serves up the potent aroma and flavor of pineapple, passion fruit, mango, papaya, and guava, and is lovingly supported by sweet citrus undertones.”

Creature Comforts Brewing Co. & Cloudwater Brew Co. Collaborate on Anicca Saison

CCBC_AniccaStillWeb-Creature Comforts Brewing Co. (Athens, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Anicca, a special Saison brewed in collaboration with Manchester, England’s Cloudwater Brew Co., on July 27.

Inspired by the philosophies that Creature Comforts and Cloudwater both share, Anicca is a rustic Saison that had “the two brewing teams [borrowing] from their respective regional flavors with a seasonal lens.”  Brewed with “wheat from DaySpring Farms and . . . apples from Mercier Orchards’ 2017 harvest”, the beer was then aged for “15 months in oak with Creature Comforts’ house yeast and bacteria.” To round everything out, Anicca (7.5% ABV) was “bottle conditioned with honey local to Athens, Georgia.”

Anicca will officially release on Saturday, July 27 in the Tasting Room at Creature Comforts Brewing Co.  Available in 750ml bottles, Anicca is a Tasting Room exclusive that is not expected to see distribution outside of special events.  Prost!

Bell’s Brewery Closes Out Summer with New-Look Packaging for Oberon Ale

146A9639Bell’s Brewery (Comstock, Michigan) has officially announced that Oberon Ale will be temporarily wearing a new limited-edition look for the rest of Summer 2019.

Inspired by the artwork featured on this year’s Oberon mini-kegs, Bell’s Brewery has decided to give Oberon a refreshed look that reflects the subtle shifts that occur throughout the summer season. This new design will be featured on all Oberon packaging: 4-packs of 16 oz. cans, 6-packs of 12 oz. cans, 12-packs of 12 oz. cans, 6-packs of 12 oz. bottles, and 12-packs of 12 oz. bottles. In addition to being featured on Oberon bottles and cans, this “same beautiful imagery has also inspired some brand-new Bell’s merchandise that can be purchased online and in person from the Bell’s General Store.”

LOKO Cuisine’s Next Eggs & Kegs Brunch Brings the Aloha Spirit to Webb’s City Cellar

lokocuisinelogoOn Sunday, July 21 at 11 a.m., LOKO Cuisine will pop up over at Webb’s City Cellar at Green Bench Brewing Co. (1133 Baum Ave. N | St. Petersburg, Florida) to host a special Aloha edition of its Eggs & Kegs Brunch Series.

Inspired heavily by “the islands’ mixed lunch plate”, Aloha Eggs & Kegs is a Hawaiian-style brunch that will pair wonderfully with a summer Sunday in Florida and any leis and/or tropical-print shirts you may or may not have tucked away in your closet.  This spirited brunch will consist of the following five-course meal (served buffet-style):
