TrimTab Brewing Dips Into Its Cellar Reserve to Release Triple Scoop Imperial Stout

TrimTab Brewing (Birmingham, Alabama) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Triple Scoop Imperial Stout on Tuesday, July 14.

The latest released to be scooped out of TrimTab’s Cellar Reserve Series of Imperial Stouts and Dessert Stouts, Triple Scoop is an Imperial Stout “brewed with Chocolate Malts, Cacao Puree, Cocoa Powder, and Chocolate Soft-serve Ice Cream.” Clocking in at 9.5% ABV, Triple Scoop promises to be “16 ounces of delicious decadence.”

Triple Scoop Imperial Stout will officially debut in the Tasting Gallery at TrimTab Brewing at noon on July 14, and distribution is expected to follow shortly after the on-site release. You can expect to find this Limited Release available in 4-packs of 16 oz. cans and on draft at select craft beer-focused establishments located within the brewery’s distribution footprint in Alabama and Georgia. Straight to Ale Begins Limited Can Release of Black is Beautiful Imperial Stout

Straight to Ale (Huntsville, Alabama) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Release of Black is Beautiful, an Imperial Stout brewed in conjunction with Weathered Souls Brewing Co. (San Antonio, Texas), at 11 a.m. on July 6.

Brewed as Straight to Ale’s contribution to Weathered Souls Brewing Co.’s Black is Beautiful initiative, Black is Beautiful is a 10% ABV Imperial Stout brewed with “lots of oats” and generously hopped with “complex American and vibrant New Zealand [hops].” Dropping to make an impact, 100% of the proceeds raised from the sale of Straight to Ale’s take on Black is Beautiful will be donated to the Alabama chapter of the Alabama NAACP.

Brewed to be the “newer, cooler big brother” to Sideward’s highly-rated Space Wizard IPA, Star Rider is a New England-style India Pale Ale “made with all the new space age hop products” – Mosaic hop oil, Mosaic Cryo, Sabro Cryo and Vic Secret hops. Coming in at 7.9% ABV, Star Rider features “big notes of citrus with underlying pineapple, passion fruit and pine.”

Wild Leap Brew Co. Launches Smoothie Supernova Series with Brewery-only Release of Raspberry Lemonade

Wild Leap Brew Co. (LaGrange, Georgia) has officially announced that it will kick off its new Smoothie Supernova Series with the Taproom Exclusive Release of Smoothie Supernova – Raspberry Lemonade on Friday, June 26.

Releasing as “Wild Leap’s first-ever taproom only release and brew designed to taste like a beer smoothie,” Smoothie Supernova – Raspberry Lemonade is a Smoothie-style Ale blended with “vast amounts” of lemon and raspberry purée. Coming in at 5.5% ABV, the “tart and sweet” Smoothie Supernova – Raspberry Lemonade has a “consistency [that is] thick and creamy, but sippable, so no straw is necessary.”

“Brewing a beer with huge fruit additions is something we’ve always wanted to do,” says Chris Elliott, Wild Leap’s Chief Brewing Officer. “Our recent expansion allowed us the capability to offer these unique beers as a to-go options. We now have larger tanks and the ability to run the beer through our can line.

“Because of the large additions of fruit added after fermentation, we’re strongly recommending that the beers are kept at refrigeration temperatures at all times and consumed within 14 days of the packaging date on the bottom of the can,” explains Elliott.

Smoothie Supernova – Raspberry Lemonade is releasing exclusively in Wild Leap’s taproom on June 26 and online ordering is available now so that you can easily arrange curbside pickup. Green Bench Brewing Co. (St. Petersburg, Florida) has officially announced that it will launch its Pick & Roll Series, a rotating lineup of Hazy Pale Ales, with a Limited Can Release beginning at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16.

Named to express Green Bench Brewing Co.’s love for sports and current melancholy over missing basketball in particular, Pick & Roll is a new series of Hazy Pale Ales that will rotate out the featured hops with every release. Pick & Roll 00:01, the first release in this series, is a Hazy Pale Ale that comes in at 5.5% ABV and is double dry-hopped with Nelson Sauvin and Citra hops.

Creature Comforts Brewing Co. (Athens, Georgia) has officially announced that it will begin a Double Bottle Release featuring Concurrence Blend No. 5 and River Ridge Red (2019 Harvest) on Saturday, June 20.

The good folks at Creature Comforts Brewing Co. are continuing to bring the goods, and this week they are showcasing a couple of their experimental series with the Limited Releases of the following two beers (descriptions sourced directly from the brewery’s press release):

  • Concurrence Blend No. 5 – A 13.9% ABV imperial stout aged in High Wire Jimmy Red Corn Bourbon barrels with coconut, Ugandan vanilla, and dulce de leche. Creature Comforts’ Concurrence Blend series is a continued exploration into barrel-aged stouts paired with the finest quality adjunct ingredients.
  • River Ridge Red (2019 Harvest) – A 6.6% ABV blended oak-aged beer with organic red raspberries from Independence, VA’s River Ridge Organics. This beer honors the crop from River Ridge Organics. Creature Comforts selected the best blend of barrels to honor the complex flavor of the red raspberries featured in the beer. River Ridge Red is a proud addition to Creature Comforts’ fruited mixed-culture farm celebrations, in a continuing effort to explore the historical relationship between brewers and farmers.

Jester King Brewery & WeldWerks Brewing Collaborate on Rex Machina Hazy IPA

Jester King Brewery (Austin, Texas) has officially announced that it will begin the Limited Can Release of Rex Machina, a special collaboration with WeldWerks Brewing (Greeley, Colorado), at noon on Friday, June 12.

Rex Machina is a Hazy/Juicy India Pale Ale built upon a base of “Silver Star Two Row malt from Blacklands Malt and a quarter-ton of flaked and malted oats and wheat.” To ensure that Rex Machina (6.7% ABV) bursts with plenty of hop-sourced juiciness, the beer was then “dry hopped aggressively, first with WeldWerks super-expressive, hand-picked lot of El Dorado, then again with a new hop blend called Trident, which lends an intense tropical, passion fruit character.”

Rex Machina will officially release at Jester King Brewery at noon on June 12 and will hang around only as long as supplies last (only 200 cases produced).
