Coppertail Brewing Co. Shifts Packaging to Cans

coppertaillogoCoppertail Brewing Co. (Tampa, Florida) has officially announced that it will completely transition its portfolio of bottled offerings to cans in March 2019.

The Florida craft beer community has spoken, and Coppertail has responded by abandoning the bottle for the more beach-friendly can.  The brewery’s shift to cans will play out in the following ways:

  • The Core-4 (Free Dive IPA, Unholy Trippel, Night Swim Porter and Independent Pilsner) will be available in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans
  • Seasonal and Limited offerings will be available in 4-packs of 16 oz. cans
  • Free Dive IPA, Coppertail’s most popular offering, will also be available in a 12-pack of 12 oz. cans, marking the first time that the brewery has offered any distributed beer in a 12-pack format

This move to cans will allow the brewery to take advantage of the following benefits:

  • The beer will be better protected from oxygen and UV light
  • Increased rates of recycling
  • Lighter weight/less fuel needed for shipping
  • Less breakable and more welcome at outdoor venues and stadiums

“This change is really about two things,” Kent Bailey, Coppertail’s president explained. “First, giving our customers what they have been asking for, and second, taking the quality of our beer to even higher levels. Our new canning line packages beer with lower levels of beer spoiling oxygen than we’ve ever seen, so our beer will stay fresher, longer. When you add that to the other benefits of cans, there’s no question it’s the right way for us to go.”

Coppertail cans will officially roll out in March 2019 and you can expect to find them at Publix and other craft beer-friendly retailers located across the state of Florida.  Prost!

Coppertail Brewing Co. Announces Plans for 4th Anniversary Celebration

coppertaillogowhiteOn Saturday, August 18 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Coppertail Brewing Co. (Tampa, Florida) will celebrate another amazing year of growth by inviting the brewery’s fans to attend a 4th Anniversary Party that will feature over 40 taps of Coppertail offerings and guest beers.

Over the past year, Coppertail Brewing Co. has expanded distribution to now completely cover the state of Florida, earned several more medals for its beers at competitions held at both the state and national levels, and “was also recognized by the Tampa Bay Business Journal as one of the fastest growing companies in Tampa.” This is all definitely cause for celebration, and the folks at the brewery will do just that with a 4th Anniversary Party on August 18.

“According to recent IRI syndicated data, we are the No. 1 selling craft brewery in Florida. Our sales are up 35% from this time last year. We are thankful to our fans and followers for continuing to support us and drink our beer.”

SHEFFIELD DISPATCHES DESCEND INTO LUNACY

Coppertail Sighting? Malaria to blame?

The latest dispatches arriving from Sir Winston Sheffield’s Congo expedition may be the work of a fevered brain. In shaky handwriting on smudged and blackened pages Sheffield claims to have finally sighted the infamous cryptid, Coppertail – on dry land no less – only to suffer some strange misfortune as he raised his Willougby Mark 11 into firing position.

“Snakes! My firearm was infested with them. Elephants, zebras, Hyenas – every manner of wild beast swarmed upon me each time I took aim at my quarry. I squeezed off a shot – a tremendous flash of light, and I awoke on the ground, hair smoldering, face singed, weapon in pieces. There were snakes, I tell you.”

Coppertail Brewing Co. Provides a Peek at Its 2018 Release Calendar

coppertaillogoWith its sights set firmly on the year ahead, Coppertail Brewing Co. (Tampa, Florida) has officially unveiled its 2018 Distribution Release Calendar.

Just as we did with last year’s batch of calendars, we have posted Coppertail Brewing Co.’s full 2018 Release Calendar below for you to look over at your leisure.  With that said, there are a few highlights and format changes to go over before we turn you loose:

  • Coppertail Brewing’s Seasonals will be available in 6-packs of 12 oz. bottles and include offerings such as Septima Saison and Seasonal Relief Baltic Porter.
  • The Florida Weisse Series returns in 4-packs of 12 oz. bottles and will feature releases such as BOMP Berliner Weisse (Blood Orange, Mango, Passion Fruit), Blackberry Cucumber Berliner Weisse and Guava Pastelitos Berliner Weisse.
  • 2018 will see three Limited Release Series offerings in 750ml bottles: Captain Jack’s Stone Crab Stout (January – March), The Realist Tart Pale Ale (June – August), and Cryptid Imperial Stout (October – December).
  • The Alpha Hunt Series of India Pale Ales will return in 2018 with 6-packs of 12 oz. bottles.  Although we do not have a name for one of the three releases, we do know that Kiko Santiago India Pale Ale and Sorcha O’Sullivan India Pale Ale will be back next year.  Sorcha O’Sullivan is actually making its 2017 debut right now, and this IPA sources “big citrus and tropical fruit notes” from Idaho 7, Medusa and Citra hops.
  • Keep in mind that the document below is actually just Coppertail’s distribution calendar for packaged beer in 2018.  That is why there is no mention of draft availability and why a beer or two may be missing from the list.  For instance, the not listed but wildly popular Brew’s Banner Double IPA will see a tasting room-only release in March 2018.

Alrighty . . . that’s pretty much everything we wanted to go over, but there are still quite a few gems left for you to discover on the calendar.  Give it a good look and start getting amped for another great year of brews from Coppertail Brewing Co.  Prost!
