As is the norm around here when it comes to beer calendars, we have published Founders Brewing Co.’s 2020 Availability Calendar in its entirety below so that you can examine it at your own pace.  With that said, here are a few juicy tidbits that we would like to highlight before we turn you over to the calendar:

  • The Barrel-Aged Series kicks off with the 2019/2020 release of KBS Espresso – the first variant of KBS – which will have availability into February 2020.  The original KBS will return in February as a Year-Round release. Más Agave (May – July) and Underground Mountain Brown (September – October) are both scheduled to return in 2020. Founders plans to add two new yet-to-be-named offerings to the series during the year – one of which will be a Más Agave variant.
  • The brewery’s Year-Round lineup will see the addition of Unraveled IPA in February.  Unraveled IPA is an “incredibly flavorful and aromatic” Juicy India Pale Ale “dry hopped with traditional hop pellets along with lupulin powder, an innovative hop product that separates lupulin from the hop flower.”  ABV – 6.6%  IBUS – 50
  • Centennial IPA will get some new packaging options in 2020.  Look for this Year-Round to have availability in 19.2 oz. cans and 6-packs of 12 oz. cans beginning in February 2020.
  • 4 Giants IPA, “a mashup of [the brewery’s] four favorite imperial IPAs,” will be available April through June 2020 as a part of the Limited Series.
  • Speaking of the Limited Series, Frangelic Mountain Brown (January – March), Green Zebra (May – August), and Harvest Ale (October) are all scheduled to return.  Founders plans to also add two yet-to-be-named offerings to the series in 2020.
  • The Mothership Series, the brewery’s “ultra-limited, brew team favorite beers only found at [Founders] taproom locations,” will kick off with the return of Devil Dancer on January 22.  Founders plans to release five more Mothership Series offerings throughout the year.
  • The brewery will launch the MI-Exclusive Series in 2020 with the March release of Red’s Rye IPA in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans. As you may have already guessed, the MI-Exclusive Series will see exclusive distribution in Founders Brewing Co.’s home state of Michigan.

That should just about cover all the points we wanted to go over, but there is still a good amount of info left for you to discover on the calendar below. Give it a good look and start getting excited about all the tasty brews headed your way from Founders Brewing Co in 2020.  Prost!

Official IPA shots

Another week brings with it another wave of beer calendars, and this one is kicking off with the 2019 Release Calendar from Bell’s Brewery (Comstock, Michigan).

Just as we do with all beer calendars in these parts, we have published Bell’s 2019 Release Calendar in its entirety below for you to thumb through whenever you have the opportunity.  With that said, we feel it is our duty to briefly go over a few important highlights before turning you over to that document.  Let’s get to it:

  • Things get off to a proper start with the annual limited release of Hopslam Ale. Click here to view the 2019 Shipping Schedule for this always highly sought-after brew.
  • Bell’s Official Hazy IPA will join the brewery’s Year-Round portfolio in February.  This Hazy India Pale Ale “is double dry-hopped (a combination of Mosaic, Citra, Azacca, Amarillo and El Dorado hops) resulting in complex peach, stone fruit and tropical notes with a dry finish and balanced bitterness.”  Official Hazy IPA (6.4% ABV) will be available in 6-packs & 12-packs of 12 oz. cans, 6-packs & 12-packs of 12 oz. bottles and on draft.
  • Larry’s Latest Flamingo Fruit Fight – “a new tart Fruit Ale brewed with passionfruit and lime zest” – is beginning its Seasonal run now and is scheduled to hang around into the month of March 2019.
  • Hopheads will be happy to hear that Double Two Hearted, a Double IPA version of the brewery’s classic Two Hearted Ale, will debut in bottles (4-packs of 12 oz. bottles) for the first time in July.  Double Two Hearted is a Specialty Release that will be available as long as supplies last.
  • After a two year hiatus, Sparkleberry, a Belgian-style Tripel Ale brewed with Raspberries, will return for a limited time in June.
  • Smitten Ale, a Golden Rye Pale Ale, will return in May as a part of Bell’s Brewery’s lineup of Rotating Specialties.
  • Finally, Bell’s will roll out the “Leaves of Grass” Series later this year.  There is not a lot of information available on this series at this time, but here is what Larry Bell had to say about it:

“This is just a preview of coming attractions, though not all of them are ready to share just yet. We still have a few more surprises to come,” Larry Bell, President and Founder of Bell’s Brewery said. “A few years ago we debuted The Planets Series, beers inspired by the work of Gustav Holst. This year, we’re going to introduce a new series inspired by the arts, but this time a little closer to home.”

“Our Leaves of Grass series will kick off later this year, we’ll have more to share on that soon,” he added.

That should just about cover everything we wanted to go over for this one, but there is still a good amount of information left for you to uncover on the calendar below.  Be sure to check it out that way you are fully prepared for all the releases headed your way from Bell’s Brewery in 2019.  Prost!

Breakside Brewery Presents 2019 Beer Release Calendar

breaksidelogoAfter riding a steady stream of beer calendars through the week, we are closing things out with a look at the 2019 Beer Release Calendar from Breakside Brewery (Portland, Oregon).

Our approach to beer calendars remains the same as we have published Breakside Brewery’s full 2019 Beer Release Calendar below for you to look through at your convenience.  There are few details that we feel need some special attention, so let’s quickly knock those out:

  • What Rough Beast – a “contemporary India Pale Ale brewed with feet firmly planted in the Northwest and a nod to New England” – will transition from a Seasonal offering to Year-Round in 2019.
  • The brewery’s Year-Round portfolio will also see the addition of True Gold.  Available in 6-packs, this easy-drinking “‘golden pilsner’ . . . has a bite and crispness that hearkens back to a pilsner or lager, with a distinctive Breakside-style twist.”
  • Breakside’s lineup of Core Seasonals will trim down to focus on two main beers: Tall Guy IPA (January – May) and Passionfruit Sour Ale (June – October).  Salted Caramel Stout (November – December) will make a brief appearance during the holiday season.
  • The Rotating IPA Series will return with four offerings that will be released quarterly: Kids These Haze (Q1), Rainbows & Unicorns (Q2), Thirst Trap (Q3), and Coming Out Party (Q4).
  • 2019 will see the rise of The Oligarch – “A study in barrel-aged experimentation, this new brew is far more than ‘just’ an Imperial Stout. The Oligarch project encompasses 84 casks, 122 bbls of finished beer and no less than eight resulting variants. Aged in bourbon barrels (including some that previously contained maple syrup) the different beers resulting from this creative undertaking feature ingredients ranging from chocolate, vanilla and cinnamon all the way to mushrooms, almonds and raspberries.”
  • Breakside will also roll out an All Draft Lager Series in 2019.  This “smaller volume project” will consist of a vast array of “refreshing, smooth, drinkable, clean, and complex” Lagers that will be available “to a wider audience for the first time.”

“Our 2019 calendar is exciting. The rotating IPA series returns, featuring four favorite hoppy beers that we have refined over the past few years. Our barrel program continues to grow – both in wood-aged strong ales and mixed culture sour beers. The first releases from that wing of our brewery include some exciting new beers like The Oligarch and Fruits That Begin With The Letter Yuzu.”

– Ben Edmunds, Brewmaster for Breakside Brewery

That should just about cover everything that we wanted to go over, but there is still a massive amount of good information left for you to discover on the calendar below.  Check it out and start getting stoked for another fantastic year of brews with Breakside Brewery.  Prost!

Okay, so technically that’s nine, but it ‘gose’ without say that there’s going to be salt.”

Just as we do with all posts on brewery calendars, we have published Starr Hill’s full 2019 Product Calendar below for you to fully absorb on your own.  With that said, there are quite a few details that we feel we should pass along before we turn you over to that document.  Brevity is our goal, so let’s knock it out:
